Kits Collection - 2 New Kits Added

With the Kits Collection by Stampin' Up!™, you can go online and choose from a variety of affordably priced, versatile kits for multiple occasions.  Each kit will provide step-by-step instructions and is all-inclusive, pre-cut, and ready to use.  Kits are great for those who have time and/or space limitations, don’t want to collect crafting supplies, or don't think they are creative.  They are designed with new crafters in mind to give them a fun, easy experience, but anyone can enjoy the kits.  Kits are a one-time order, not a subscription! 

Stampin' Up!™ just added TWO NEW kits called the Beautiful Blues Kit and the Share A Smile Kit. 

Kits are perfect for anyone who wants to host a stamping party with their friends.  Everyone can choose the kit they want to assemble, have it delivered before the party so they can bring the kit with them to the event, and can have a great time assembling the projects they want and need while visiting with friends.  Everyone will be able to see other kits as they are assembled by others as well.  The Host will still receive credit for everyone's purchases when they use the assigned Host Code when placing their order.  The Host can then use the Stampin' Rewards earned to purchase additional craft supplies for themself.  If you are interested in being a Host for a Kit Party, contact me at [email protected] and we'll work out all the details.

Kits are sold online (not through a catalog) and are only available while supplies last, so don't wait to order one you love!  If a kit is no longer available, it won't show up in the online store.  New kits will be added regularly though, so be sure to check back often!  If you really don't want to place an online order, I can order a kit for you, but keep in mind that it could sell out before I can get the order placed.  You will have to go online no matter what to see what kits are available!

Wonderful World Framed Flowers

For the second card we made in August Club Class, we used the Wonderful World Bundle which includes the stamp set and some gorgeous designer paper.  We used the thumping technique to add additional color and depth to the stamped flowers.  The sentiment used makes this card appropriate for lots of occasions but I also allowed my Club Members to choose from a few other sentiments in the Charming Sentiments Bundle.

Nature's Prints Dahlia Fold Flower

A fellow Demonstrator, Lisa Curcio, recently posted a card using the Dahlia Fold technique.  I hadn't done one of these cards in awhile, so I thought I'd design one for my June Club Class so I could teach my Club Members this pretty technique.  Here's the card I designed for them to make using the Nature's Prints Bundle.

Sweet Strawberry Boxes For You

I decorated some of the Love You Always Treat Boxes using the Sweet Strawberry Bundle and some of the strawberry patterned papers from the Berry Blessings Bundle that can be earned for FREE during Sale-A-Bration.  I filled the boxes with candy and gave them to my Club Members as an extra treat from me along with their January Club Orders.  I've created a video tutorial showing how to put the boxes together and how I decorated them.

The Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine offers die cutting and embossing options for everyone – from beginning stampers to seasoned crafters.  This machine offers the highest quality and makes precise cuts and detailed embossed images every time.  Because it is smaller and lighter than the regular size Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, it is perfect for those with limited space or who like to craft on the go!  It is also less expensive than the regular size machine.  It comes with all the tools needed to get started right away, making it easy to have a fantastic die-cutting and embossing experience from the start.

Here are some of the features of this great tool:

• Durable machine with high-quality results. The solid steel construction frame and rubber feet that securely grip the work surface produce crisp, clean, precise cutting and beautifully detailed embossing.  The 3-1/2" wide platforms works with Stampin' Cut & Emboss Dies and Embossing Folders that are narrower than 3-3/8".  Products that will definitely fit in this machine are marked with a Mini Machine icon in the catalogs.  The ergonomic carrying handle allows for easy transport and leverage while in use.  The handle also flows well and balances the perfect amount of rotation and pressure.

Q. Is the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine comparable to other machines on the market?

A. Yes, it is a fantastic machine! Due to our machine's solid steel construction frame, the tightness and effectiveness of the cutting and embossing will remain intact over time. The precise pressure designed and engineered into the machine also results in crisp, clean, and precise cutting along with beautifully detailed embossing. The new machine has a small footprint, ergonomic carrying handle, easy rotating handle for comfort in use, and strategically designed platforms for superior control. It  also includes simple visuals and training for a rapid learning curve. The best part is that all this value is offered at a great price!

Q. Is this machine only available through Stampin’ Up!?

A. Yes. There are times that we partner with companies who already offer crafting tools and we rebrand them for Stampin’ Up! This is not the case with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.  It is exclusive to Stampin’ Up! which means the only place you can buy it is through us!

Q. Does the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine have a warranty?

A. The Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine has a three-year limited warranty. To prevent damage to the machine, use as directed and use only with compatible Stampin’ Up! products. 

Q. Do I need to buy plates before I can use my Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine?

A. No. The Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine comes with the plates you need to get started. The machine includes these plates:

• Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine: 1 Mini Base Plate (Plate 1), 2 Mini Cutting Plates (Plate 2), 1 Mini Embossing Plate (Plate 3), 1 Mini 3D Embossing Plate (Plate 4)

This is what you need for basic die cutting and embossing. Optional plates are sold separately for specialty die cutting and embossing. You can buy replacements for all plates.

Q. How do I create the sandwich for the machine?

A. The Mini Base Plate for the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine includes instructions on how to use and sandwich all plates that are included with the machine. Plates that are sold separately come with their own instructions. You can also find instructions at stampinup.com/cut&emboss.

Here are a few of the basics:

• The Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine each use a different sandwich. The plates and plate order are not interchangeable. Be sure to reference instructions until you are familiar and confident.
• Each plate has a number printed on it. When you build the sandwich, assemble the plates in the order shown in the sandwich diagram for the dies or embossing folders, for each applicable machine.
• Colors of similar plates are the same, even though the numbers are not. For example, the Cutting Plates for the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Mini Cutting Plates for the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine are the same color. The Specialty Plate and the Mini 3D Embossing Plate (both used to emboss with 3D folders) are the same color.
• Sandwich diagrams for the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine are on the plates that come with the machine.

Q. Can I use the plates from the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine in the standard Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine?

A. No. The plates are designed to work with the machines they correspond to and not each other.

Q. Can I use the plates designed for the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine in other die-cutting machines?

A. No. We do not recommend using Stampin’ Cut & Emboss plates in other machines. We designed our plates specifically for our machine, and we have not tested them to work with other machines.

Q. I already have accessories (cutting plates, platforms, mats, or pads) for a different die-cutting machine. Can I use them with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machines?

A. No. Because the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine comes with all the plates you need to get started, you don’t need to use accessories from other machines. Our plates are the correct thickness to work with the gap (distance between the rollers) in our machine so you get the best results with the least effort.

Plates designed for non-Stampin’ Up! machines will likely be the wrong thickness. If they are too thick, they’ll make the sandwich too high, which could damage the machine. If they are too thin, you'll need to use shims or run dies through the machine several times to get good results. 

To prevent damage to the machine, use the plates that are included with or designed to work with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. (Compatible products will state that they can be used with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine in the product description in the catalog and online store.)

Q. Can I use dies and embossing folders from other manufacturers in the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine?

A. Yes, but due to differences in product thickness, you might need to use a shim to adjust the sandwich height. However, if the sandwich is too high, don’t force it through the machine—this could damage the machine and void the warranty.

Q. Can I use Stampin’ Cut & Emboss dies and embossing folders with other die-cutting and embossing machines?

A. Yes. You can use Stampin’ Cut & Emboss dies and embossing folders with most die-cutting and embossing machines. Use the sandwich recommended by the machine’s manufacturer. Because of variances in machines or products, you might need to use a shim.

Q. Can I keep using Stampin’ Up! dies and embossing folders with a machine I already own?

A. Yes. In some cases, adaptations like shims may be required.

Q. What’s a shim?

A. It’s a thin piece of material that is added to the “sandwich” to increase its thickness. A shim increases the pressure on the die or embossing folder, which results in cleaner cuts and better impressions. A shim can be as thin as a single sheet of cardstock. Whether you’ll need one depends on the die-cutting and embossing machine you’re using as well as what dies and folders you’re using with it. There are no standards for die-cutting and embossing machines, so each has a slightly different gap (distance between the rollers). If your dies don’t cut cleanly on one pass, try adding a shim to improve performance. Also, some machines loosen over time and the gap can change slightly, so if your dies don’t cut as cleanly as they did previously, you might want to add a shim. However, if the sandwich is too high, don’t force it through the machine—this could damage the machine and void the warranty.

Q. Can I use die-cutting and embossing products that I bought previously from Stampin’ Up! with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine?

A. Yes. You can use dies and embossing folders that you bought previously from Stampin’ Up! with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. However, accessories such as plates and platforms for other die-cutting and embossing machines are not compatible with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

 

Q. What is the life expectancy on the Mini Cutting Plates?

A. Lifespans on these plates vary based on usage behavior. Mini Cutting Plates naturally become bowed and scratched over time. Replace them when they no longer give you the results you want, such as if the dies stop cutting cleanly or if the plates leave marks on the paper.

To extend the life of Mini Cutting Plates: 

• Flip the plates so each side gets equal use.
• Place dies in different spots on the plate—don’t always place them in the same spot.

Q. Which dies and embossing folders will work with the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine?

A. Dies and embossing folders that are compatible with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine are indicated in the product description in our catalogs and online store. Keep in mind that we are indicating which dies and embossing folders are 100% compatible based on their sizes. Many dies that aren’t noted as compatible with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine do include smaller pieces that will work with the mini machine.  

Q. Cutting plates that come with the machine are labeled with a number and are color coded for easy use when building your sandwich. Will replacement Mini Cutting Plates that I purchase separately include the same labeling and coloring?

A. All Mini Cutting Plates will come with the same labeling and coloring.

Q. Will Stampin’ Up! sell a bag to carry the machine?

A. Not at this time.
