We had a wonderful time on Sunday getting a head start on Christmas cards and getting lots of sneak peeks at new products in the Holiday Catalog effective September 1. I was thrilled to meet Sharon MacKinnon too! Sharon is a fellow Demonstrator and mom to the famous Tami White! She was in Maryland visiting her niece and came with her to my stamp camp. She's a lovely lady.
Here are the projects everyone could choose to make if they wished.
Uses Christmas Magic Clear-Mount Set and Peaceful Pines Photopolymer Set plus Very Vanilla Card Stock, Old Olive Card Stock, Real Red Card Stock, Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad, Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad, 2016-2018 In Color Stampin' Write Markers (Emerald Envy), Neutrals Collection Stampin' Write Markers (Sahara Sand), Brights Collection Stampin' Write Markers (Old Olive and Real Red), Delicate White Doilies, Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine, Stamping Sponges, Basic Gray Archival Stampin' Pad, Sponge Brayers, Seasonal Decorative Masks, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Clear-Mount Block A, Clear-Mount Block H, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, and Post-It Notes (for masking).
Uses Christmas Pines Photopolymer Set plus Emerald Envy Card Stock, Mint Macaron Card Stock, Crumb Cake Card Stock, Soft Suede Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Emerald Envy Classic Stampin' Pad, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Emerald Envy Ombre Stampin' Pad, SNAIL Adhesive, Fine-Tip Glue Pen, Clear-Mount Block E, Clear-Mount Block G, Clear-Mount Block I, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Precision Base Plate, Die Brush, Pretty Pines Thinlits, and scratch paper (for masking).
Uses Cookie Cutter Christmas Photopolymer Set plus Chocolate Chip Card Stock, Crumb Cake Card Stock, Sahara Sand Card Stock, Real Red Card Stock, Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad, Neutrals Collection Stampin' Write Markers (Sahara Sand), Real Red 3/4" Stitched Edge Ribbon, SNAIL Adhesive, Fine-Tip Glue Pen, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Clear-Mount Block C, Clear-Mount Block D, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Simply Scored Scoring Tool (for stylus), 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch, Confetti Hearts Border Punch, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, Magnetic Platform, and Lots of Labels Framelits.
To create the "cookie/baking sheet" for the card above, we cut out a piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock using one of the Lots of Labels Framelits. We then punched a hole in each end using the 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch. Next, we placed a smaller framelit on top and traced the inside of the framelit with the Marker. We then placed the cut out on the Stampin' Pierce Mat and used the stylus from the Scoring Tool to trace the marker line.
Uses Fa-la-la-la Friends Photopolymer Set plus Cherry Cobbler Card Stock, Crumb Cake Card Stock, Very Vanilla Card Stock, Old Olive Card Stock, Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad, Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad, Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper, Baker's Twine Trio Pack, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Clear-Mount Block C, Clear-Mount Block E, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Magnetic Platform, Layering Ovals Framelits, Bear Hugs Framelits, Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder, misting spray bottle filled with water (an old Stampin' Mist bottle works great), and a thin piece of cardboard (as a shim).
To get the best impression with the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder, we sprayed the oval of card stock lightly with water before putting it into the folder and running it through the Big Shot. I also found that I get a better impression with my machine if I use a thin shim of cardboard as well.
Uses Jolly Friends Photopolymer Set and Labeler Alphabet Photopolymer Set plus Rose Red Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Old Olive Card Stock, Rose Red Classic Stampin' Pad, Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad, Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad, Gold Metallic Thread, Blender Pens, Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad, Basic Gray Archival Stampin' Pad, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Clear-Mount Block A, 2 of Clear-Mount Block B, Clear-Mount Block G, 2" Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Stampin' Trimmer, and Paper Snips.
To make things go a little faster, I premounted the letters to spell out "Have a Yule" on one of the Clear-Mount Block B and the letters to spell out "cool" on Clear-Mount Block G.
Uses Merriest Wishes Clear-Mount Set plus Emerald Envy Card Stock, Cucumber Crush Card Stock, Gold Glimmer Paper, Baker's Twine Trio Pack, Sponge Daubers, VersaMark Pad, Emerald Envy Glitter Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, SNAIL Adhesive, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Clear-Mount Block C, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Precision Base Plate, Magnetic Platform, Die Brush, Merry Tags Framelits, and Pine Bough Embossing Folder.
After embossing the Cucumber Crush Card Stock with the Pine Bough Embossing Folder, we lightly brushed VersaMark Ink onto the raised images using a Sponge Dauber. We then stamped the sentiment in VersaMark and sprinkled the Glitter Embossing Powder all over. We tapped off the excess and heated everything until it was melted. It's harder to tell when the powder is melted because of the glitter, so you do have to test it by rubbing a finger across the surface to see if powder comes off. It's also a good idea to shake the embossing powder thoroughly before sprinkling it on the card stock because the glitter is heavier and will slowly sink to the bottom of the container.
This next card was definitely the favorite of everyone at the camp. It is strikingly pretty, but so easy!
Uses Santa's Sleigh Photopolymer Set and You've Got This Clear-Mount Set plus Emerald Envy Card Stock, Mint Macaron Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' Pad, Copper Foil Sheets, 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack, VersaMark Pad, Embossing Buddy, Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Clear-Mount Block E, Clear-Mount Block H, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, and Santa's Sleigh Thinlits.
Uses Seasonal Bells Wood-Mount Set plus Delightful Dijon Card Stock, Always Artichoke Card Stock, Cherry Cobbler Card Stock, Very Vanilla Card Stock, Delightful Dijon Classic Stampin' Pad, Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad, Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, SNAIL Adhesive, Fine-Tip Glue Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Paper-Piercing Tool, Bell Punch, Holly Berry Builder Punch, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, Magnetic Platform, Layering Circles Framelits, and Bunch of Banners Framelits.
To create the circle of pierced dots, we placed the Delightful Dijon Card Stock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat and then placed one of the scalloped circles from the Layering Circles Framelits on top of the card stock. We then used the Paper-Piercing Tool to poke hole between each scallop. The Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush was used to color the clappers on the bells and to draw on the veins of the holly leaves.
Uses Star of Light Photopolymer Set plus Dapper Denim Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Soft Sky Card Stock, Dapper Denim Classic Stampin' Pad, Soft Sky Classic Stampin' Pad, Silver Foil Sheets, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stamping Sponges (or Sponge Brayers), SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Clear-Mount Block E, Clear-Mount Block H, Clear-Mount Block I, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Precision Base Plate, Magnetic Platform, Die Brush, Starlight Thinlits, and light blue Sharpie Marker.
When I created my sample card seen above, I used a couple of Sponge Brayers to add the color to the white layer as a background. However, I didn't have enough of the Sponge Brayer handles to use them at the Camp, so everyone applied their color with Stamping Sponges instead. Turn your foil sheet upside down on the Precision Base Plate and place the thinlit on the back of the sheet before cutting it out. This will keep the cut out foil image smoother. We used a light blue Sharpie to color a Rhinestone Jewel before adding it to the center of the star.
The shadows on this final card make it appear that some of the areas were sponged. They weren't! I just had to play with the contrast of the scanned image to get the snow bank swirls at the bottom of the card to show up a little bit.
Uses Thoughtful Branches Photopolymer Set and Teeny Tiny Wishes Wood-Mount Set plus Garden Green Card Stock, Crumb Cake Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Real Red Card Stock, Garden Green Classic Stampin' Pad, Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad, Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad, Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine, SNAIL Adhesive, Fine-Tip Glue Pen, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Clear-Mount Block A, Clear-Mount Block E, Classic Label Punch, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Precision Base Plate, Die Brush, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, and Beautiful Branches Thinlits.
