Walk In Wednesday - Christmas Pines and Star of Light

Walk In Wednesday is on for today!

This is a day when you can stop by and pick up orders, place orders, pay for orders, look at displays, pick up a catalog, ask questions, get help with products, sign up for upcoming events, and stamp a couple of quick and easy projects.

I still have two October Club Orders here and ready for pick up. 

Retired merchandise, including recently retired items, are out for sale on a first-come, first-serve basis.  All retired items are on sale for at least 20% off.  If you plan to purchase retired items, please bring cash (nothing larger than a $20) or your checkbook.  I can NOT accept credit or debit cards for retired merchandise.  This will be the last chance for retired items for awhile as I will be packing everything away to make room for Christmas decorations.

You can stop by anytime between 3 p.m and 6 p.m.  You don't have to tell me in advance that you are coming, just pop by!

Lift Me Up Watercolor Wash Balloons

This is another one of the cards we made in my Club Classes this month featuring various watercoloring techniques.  We cheated a little with this one - using the Watercolor Wash background stamp.  We did spritz it with water though before stamping and I think using the Wink of Stella Brushes is a lot like watercoloring.  The main focus though is a new stamp set called Lift Me Up which will be available in the Occasions Catalog starting January 4, 2017.

Hang Your Stocking Pastel Noel

I used a bunch of products on sale right now including the Hang Your Stocking Stamp Set and Christmas Stockings Thinlits to create this fresh, modern Christmas card.

  Uses Hang Your Stocking Photopolymer Set plus Mint Macaron Card Stock, Watermelon Wonder Card Stock, Crumb Cake Card Stock, Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad, Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper, Watermelon Wonder 5/8" Mini Striped Ribbon, Sponge Brayers, Seasonal Decorative Masks, SNAIL Adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Silicone Craft Sheet, Clear-Mount Block A, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, Precision Base Plate, Big Shot Platform, Christmas Stockings Thinlits, and large binder clip.

For a quick and easy way to adhere the delicate cutouts, try placing them upside down on the Silicone Craft Sheet.  Then, pinch a quarter of a Stamping Sponge in a large binder clip.  Put a dollop of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the Silicone Craft Sheet and dab the sponge into the glue and then all around the back of the delicate cutout.  Flip the cutout over and adhere it in place.

Dragonfly Dreams Bleached Wings

We made this pretty card in my Club Classes this month.  It uses a couple of watercoloring techniques and one of my favorite new bundles from the Occasions Catalog effective January 4 called Dragonfly Dreams.  I love, love, love the dragonfly images and thinlits!

  Uses Dragonfly Dreams Photopolymer Set plus Emerald Envy Card Stock, Night of Navy Card Stock, Tempting Turquoise Card Stock, Emerald Envy Classic Stampin' Pad, Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad, Tempting Turquoise Classic Stampin' Pad, Watercolor Paper, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Metallic Thread Combo Pack, Aqua Painters, Stampin' Spritzer (filled with water), VersaMark Pad, Emerald Envy Glitter Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Clear-Mount Block E, Clear-Mount Block H, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, Magnetic Platform, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Sharpie Marker, bleach, and page protector cut open.

To create the dragonfly, we embossed the image using the gorgeous Emerald Envy Glitter Stampin' Emboss Powder.  You will want some of this beautiful embossing powder to use with this set.  It is perfect!  Then, we used an Aqua Painter filled with bleach to paint in the wings.  This bleached the exposed turquoise card stock to white so it looks like the wings are translucent.  The bleach does not effect the embossing though. 

If you want to use bleach with Aqua Painters, I highly recommend you buy a set of Aqua Painters just for this purpose.  Mark the handle with a Sharpie Marker reading "Bleach" so you'll know which one uses bleach and use it with bleach only.  This will help you avoid ruining your ink pads by accidentally using bleach on them.  When you are done with your project, empty the bleach out of the Aqua Painter.  There are two reasons for emptying out the bleach.  First, you don't want the bleach to eat away at the plastic.  Second, bleach will lose its effectiveness when exposed to light which is why it is always sold in opaque bottles.

To create the watercolored background, you will need to cut open a cheap plastic protector.  Using an Aqua Painter filled with water, pick up some ink from two or three ink pad lids and scribble the ink around on the inside of the back sheet of the cut open protector.  Remember to clean your Aqua Painter between colors by scribbling on scratch paper until the water runs clear.  When you've got all the colors scribbled onto the protector, spritz it thoroughly with water to make the colors bleed and run together.  Make sure you have colored an area big enough for your entire piece of paper.  Lay your paper face down on the protector and close the protector.  Press firmly.  Open the protector up and remove your watercolored piece.  Speed up drying by using a Heat Tool and when completely dry do some stamping if desired.

You will want to use a heavier paper for this technique since the paper does get very wet.  We used Watercolor Paper because it absorbs the color very quickly, but Shimmery White Card Stock or Thick Whisper White Card Stock should also work.  Use a lot of adhesive to adhere your finished piece to the card front to prevent curling of the edges.

You can color our Rhinestone Basic Jewels with Sharpie Markers to make them any color you want.

November RemARKably Creative Blog Tour

Welcome to the RemARKably Created Blog Tour for November.  We are going to be giving you some ideas for winter holidays this month.

  Uses Embellished Ornaments Wood-Mount Set plus Cherry Cobbler Card Stock, Crumb Cake Card Stock, Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad, Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad, Gold Foil Sheets, Gold 1/4" Natural Trim, 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack, Stamping Sponges, Sponge Daubers, SNAIL Adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Silicone Craft Sheet, Banner Triple Punch, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, Precision Base Plate, Big Shot Platform, Die Brush, Delicate Ornament Thinlits, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, and binder clip.

For a quick and easy way to adhere the delicate cutouts, try placing them upside down on the Silicone Craft Sheet.  Then, pinch a quarter of a Stamping Sponge in a large binder clip.  Put a dollop of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the Silicone Craft Sheet and dab the sponge into the glue and then all around the back of the delicate cutout.  Flip the cutout over and adhere it in place.

  Uses Peaceful Pines Photopolymer Set plus Emerald Envy Card Stock, Mint Macaron Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad, Metallic Enamel Shapes, Emerald Envy Solid Baker's Twine, Emerald Envy Ombre Stampin' Pad, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Clear-Mount Block A, Clear-Mount Block E, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, Magnetic Platform, Big Shot Platform, Perfect Pines Framelits, and Pine Bough Embossing Folder.

I lightly tapped the Ombre Stampin' Pad onto the raised inside portion of the embossing folder before inserting the card stock and running it through the Big Shot.  This transferred some color to the embossed pine bough images.

I recently made a Christmas card where I cut the sleigh image using the Santa's Sleigh Thinlits from a rectangle of Gold Foil Sheets.  This left behind a pretty negative image in the foil.  I couldn't just throw it away, so I used it to create this Christmas card.
