A Nice Cuppa Color Challenge Cards

I finally got the chance to create a card using the colors that Deb Lehigh chose for last week's color challenge.  I also went ahead and put together my colors for this week's challenge.  I used the fun A Nice Cuppa Photopolymer Stamp Set to make both cards. 

Here's my card for Deb Lehigh's color challenge - Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Tangerine Tango.

No Walk In Wednesday on January 27

There will NOT be a Walk In Wednesday Class on January 27.  We still have way too much snow in the yard, so there is nowhere to park and it is too hard to get across the grass to the Stampin' Studio door.  Thanks for understanding!

Flowering Fields Bleached Dandelions

This is the last of the cards we made in my Club Classes this month.  It uses the Flowering Fields Stamp Set, Perfect Pairings Stamp Set, and Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper that can be earned for FREE during Sale-A-Bration plus a bleaching technique.

  Uses Flowering Fields Clear-Mount Set and Perfect Pairings Clear-Mount Set plus Hello Honey Classic Stampin' Pad, Hello Honey Card Stock, Calypso Coral Card Stock, Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Crushed Curry Baker's Twine, Subtles Designer Buttons, Aqua Painters, Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad, Banner Triple Punch, Paper Snips, Craft Scissors, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Circles Collection Framelits, Clear-Mount Block A, Clear-Mount Block B, Clear-Mount Block H, and bleach.

You can use an Aqua Painter to paint bleach onto stamped images to bleach out the color of the card stock.  I recommend designating a specific Aqua Painter to use with bleach so you don't risk damaging your ink pads.  I wrote "bleach" with a Sharpie Marker onto the Aqua Painter that I use for bleach so that I don't confuse it with any others.

Do NOT store the bleach in the Aqua Painter though when you aren't using it.  It could eventually damage the Aqua Painter and bleach loses its effectiveness when exposed to light anyway.  So, always empty the Aqua Painter out after use and rinse it a few times.

I recommend you test bleach on a small piece of card stock before trying this technique.  Different card stocks bleach differently.  Some won't show much change and some are very different and might not be what you'd expect!  For instance, I really didn't expect Calypso Coral card stock to bleach out yellow!  Different lots of card stock can also bleach differently even if they are the same color.  So, if you are planning to create a bunch of the same card using the bleaching technique, try to use card stock that all comes from the same package for consistent results.

If you aren't getting any results with your bleaching, try testing your bleach to make sure it is still effective.  Bleach should have a slightly slimy feel to it if it is still good.

Honeycomb Happiness Dotted Chickie

I CASE'd this card using the Honeycomb Happiness Set from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure and added a few touches of my own.  We made it in my Club Classes this month.  By the way, CASE can stand for Copy And Share Everything or, as my group likes to say, Copy And Selectively Enhance.

  Uses Honeycomb Happiness Clear-Mount Set plus Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad, Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad, Daffodil Delight Card Stock, Crushed Curry Card Stock, Whisper White Thick Card Stock, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Happy Patterns Decorative Masks, Gold Metallic Thread, Honeycomb Embellishments, Sponge Daubers, Blender Pens, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Basic Gray Archival Stampin' Pad, Paper Snips, Craft Scissors, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Magnetic Platform, Bitty Banners Framelits, Banners Framelits, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Clear-Mount Block D, and Clear-Mount Block G.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but we did add some shimmer to random dots using the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

We used the Whisper White Thick Card Stock for the white layer with the chick stamped on it because it stands up really well to watercoloring!

If you don't want the fun Honeycomb Embellishments to get smooshed flat in the mail, then try adhering only one side.  Attach a note telling the recipient to peel off the protecting backing on the other side and stick it down after they receive the card.

Hello Confetti Party

We made this bright and cheery birthday card using the Hello Stamp Set in my Club Classes this month.  Don't forget that the Hello Stamp Set is only available until February 15 and can only be earned for FREE with a qualifying order!

After embossing the "hello" in clear on a piece of thick white card stock, we sponged on the different colors of ink with Sponge Daubers and wiped off the excess ink with a clean tissue.  We also added some shimmer to the balloons, the party hat, and the stars on the embossed background using the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Going Global Adventure Vehicles

Yesterday was my 27th wedding anniversary.  I truly have the best husband in the world!  He loves historical modes of transportation so I combined the Going Global sentiment and compass with the ship and steam train from the Traveler Set and airplane from the Sky Is the Limit Set to make a card for him.

Party Wishes Artistic Swirls Cake

We made this soft and pretty card using the Party Wishes Set and a couple of Sale-A-Bration items in my Club Classes this month.  It would be perfect for a birthday or a bridal shower or wedding.

  Uses Party Wishes Clear-Mount Set plus Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad, Smoky Slate Classic Stampin' Pad, Subtles Collection Stampin' Write Markers (Blushing Bride and So Saffron), Blushing Bride Card Stock, So Saffron Card Stock, Smoky Slate Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper, Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack, SNAIL Adhesive, Metal Rimmed Pearls, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Paper Snips, Stampin' Trimmer, Clear-Mount Block A, Clear-Mount Block D, and Clear-Mount Block H.

The cake is created using a technique called paper piecing.  We stamped the cake image in Smoky Slate on a piece of white card stock.  Then, we stamped the cake image again on the back side of a piece of the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper, which you can earn for FREE until February 15, and cut out just the cake.  We then flipped our paper over and adhered it on top of the stamped Smoky Slate image.  Voila!  A lovely swirled cake image!

Walk In Wednesday - A Nice Cuppa and Bloomin' Love

Walk In Wednesday is on for today!

This is a day when you can stop by and pick up orders, place orders, pay for orders, look at displays, pick up a catalog, ask questions, get help with products, sign up for upcoming events, and stamp a couple of quick and easy projects.

Retired merchandise is not out for sale at this time.  It was put away to make room for Christmas decorations and I have not put it back out yet.

You can stop by anytime between 3 p.m and 6 p.m.  You don't have to tell me in advance that you are coming, just pop by!  Please just remember to come to the Stampin' Studio door at the back of the house after parking on the grass along Terrace Road.

Cost is $1 per project made.  You may make one of each of the two projects available if you wish.
