Walk In Wednesday - Festive Fireplace and Friendly Wishes

Walk In Wednesday is on for today!

This is a day when you can stop by and pick up orders, place orders, pay for orders, look at displays, pick up a new catalog, ask questions, get help with products, sign up for upcoming events, and stamp a couple of quick and easy projects.

I only have one October Club order and one other order still here and ready for pick up. 

Retired merchandise is still out for sale.  Retired items are available on a first-come, first-served basis ONLY.  If you plan to shop retired merchandise, please be sure to bring your checkbook or cash (no bills larger than $20 please).  I can NOT accept credit cards for retired merchandise.

You can stop by anytime between 3 p.m and 6 p.m.  You don't have to tell me in advance that you are coming, just pop by!  Please just remember to come to the Stampin' Studio door at the back of the house after parking on the grass along Terrace Road.

Cost is $1 per project made.  You may make one of each of the two projects available if you wish.

Versatile Christmas Beanie Cap Gift Card Holder

This is one of the cutest gift card holders I think I've made in a long time and it is really quite easy to make.  We made these as one of the projects in my Club Classes this month using the Versatile Christmas Set and Merry Moments Designer Series Paper.

Sheltering Tree Sponged Leaf Tree

This is one of the cards we are making in my Club Classes this month.  It showcases the Sheltering Tree Set and a really fun technique using the Woodland Embossing Folder and another technique involving masking and sponging.

  Uses Sheltering Tree Photopolymer Set plus Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin' Pad, Cajun Craze Classic Stampin' Pad, Crushed Curry Classic Stampin' Pad, Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad, Pumpkin Pie Card Stock, Crushed Curry Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, SNAIL Adhesive, Antique Brads, Stamping Sponges, 1" Square Punch, Paper Snips, Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Magnetic Platform, Leaflets Framelits, Woodland Embossing Folder, Clear-Mount Block E, Clear-Mount Block H, and Post-It Notes.

To get the leaf images behind the embossed trees, simply stamp the image directly onto the inside of the top flap of the folder in different colors of ink.  The top flap is the one with the logos on it.  After stamping your images, place your card stock inside the folder as you normally would and close the folder.  Run through the Big Shot.  When you remove the card stock, the trees will be embossed and the stamped leaf images will have transferred to the card stock and will appear as if they are behind the embossed trees.

To create the main tree image, cut the leaf shape out of a double layer of large Post-It Notes using the Leaflets Framelits.  Place the Post-It Notes on top of your piece of card stock and stamp the tree image in Soft Suede through the cut out.  Sponge on the inks through the cut out.  Carefully remove the Post-It Notes.

Paper Pumpkin Blissful Bouquet Ideas

The October Paper Pumpkin Kit was simply lovely and was called Blissful Bouquet. Stampin' Up! also donated $1 for every existing Paper Pumpkin subscriber and $2 for every new subscriber to Breast Cancer Research Foundation during October.  The donation ended up being $36,378.00!  Wow!

As I usually do, I made the first few projects as intended with one small change.  The medium size card (second one shown below) was supposed to be a vertical card, but then it didn't fit into the provided envelope very well because of the banner piece.  So, I turned the card horizontal instead.

The only additional supplies were SNAIL Adhesive, Craft Scissors, Clear-Mount Block A, Clear-Mount Block B, Clear-Mount Block C, Clear-Mount Block G, and Clear-Mount Block H.

I actually prefer making normal size cards (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") because they are easier to mail, so after making the small and medium sized cards (first two cards shown above) as intended, I cut them apart and used the pieces on larger sized cards by adding some of my own card stock and a little extra adhesive.

  Also uses Old Olive Card Stock, Calypso Coral Card Stock, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Craft Scissors, Stampin' Trimmer, Clear-Mount Block C, and Clear-Mount Block G.

I then cut apart the rest of the smaller card pieces and some of their envelopes and combined those items and the rest of the kit pieces with some of my supplies to make my own designs.  I've indicated the extra supplies used next to each card.

November Holiday Bundle Blog Tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour for November presented by RemARKable Stampers.  We'll be focusing on the money-saving Bundles being offered by Stampin' Up! with our blog tours this year.  This month we are all focusing on one of the Bundles in the amazing Holiday Catalog.  There are plenty to choose from, so you're going to see lots of variety.

I decided to focus on the Flurry of Wishes Bundle on page 25 of the Holiday Catalog.  This pretty bundle includes the Flurry of Wishes Photopolymer Set and coordinating Snow Flurry Punch.  I really love the sentiments included in this set.

My first card is a very simple one using just the one sentiment from the set and some gold embellishments.

  Uses Flurry of Wishes Photopolymer Set plus Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad, Night of Navy Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Metallic Foil Doilies, Gold Glimmer Paper, Whisper White Thick Card Stock, Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Fine-Tip Glue Pen, Regals Candy Dots, Sponge Daubers, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Project Life Corner Punch, Snow Flurry Punch, Paper Snips, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, and Clear-Mount Block D.

For this next card, I embossed the snowflakes on a Wisteria Wonder circle using the White Stampin' Emboss Powder and then rubbed some Wisteria Wonder Ink onto the images to make them really pop.

I love being able to use only portions of the one sentiment by inking up only a portion of the stamp or by cutting it out.  For this card, I inked up the whole stamp and stamped it, but then cut out only the word "Peace" using the smallest Bitty Banners Framelits.  I outlined the cut out with the Pool Party Marker to hide any stray ink from the rest of the sentiment.

  Uses Flurry of Wishes Photopolymer Set plus Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad, Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker, Pool Party Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Whisper White Thick Card Stock, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Pearl Basic Jewels, Project Life Corner Punch, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, Magnetic Platform, Bitty Banners Framelits, Clear-Mount Block B, and Clear-Mount Block D.

The Flower Medallion Punch in the big catalog also coordinates with this set.  It punches out the smaller of the single snowflake images.  I used only a portion of the one sentiment again by carefully inking up only the top of the stamp on the ink pad.  I also embossed one of our wooden Snowflake Elements with some Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder so it would have some sparkle.

  Uses Flurry of Wishes Photopolymer Set plus Tip Top Taupe Classic Stampin' Pad, Tip Top Taupe Card Stock, Very Vanilla Card Stock, Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Fine-Tip Glue Pen, Gold Sequin Trim, Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Lace Trim, Pearl Basic Jewels, Snowflake Elements, Heat Tool, Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder, White Craft Stampin' Ink Pad, Banner Triple Punch, Flower Medallion Punch, Craft Scissors, Stampin' Trimmer, Clear-Mount Block B, and Clear-Mount Block E.

For my final card, I used only a portion of the one sentiment by carefully inking up only the bottom on the ink pad.  I paired this perfect sentiment with the Every Blessing Stamp Set.

September Club Homework Winner

I give my Club Members who attend Classes each month some "homework" - a selection of basic supplies like cardstock, designer paper, ribbons, buttons, etc.  Their assignment is to take those basic supplies and turn them into a card, tag, scrapbook page, scrapbook page embellishment, etc. and bring their creation with them to a Club Class the following month. 

For September, each person received the following supplies:

• Tangelo Twist card base
• 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock
• 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper
• another 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper
• half of a Spider Web Doily
• Very Vanilla Medium Envelope

Of course, they were allowed to add whatever other supplies they wanted and they didn't have to use all of the supplies that I provided, just as many as they could.

It was really fun at Club Classes to see the very different projects that were created using these same basic supplies.

I scanned all the projects in and then sent an e-mail to all my Club Members asking them to vote for their favorite project.

Vintage Leaves Double-Size Pillow Box

This is the last of the projects from my recent Team Meeting.  It's a double-size pillow box using the Square Pillow Box Thinlits and Vintage Leaves Bundle.

Uses Vintage Leaves Photopolymer Set and Endless Thanks Photopolymer Set plus Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin' Pad, Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad, Hello Honey Card Stock, Pumpkin Pie Card Stock, Rich Razzleberry Card Stock, Window Sheets, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, 2-Way Glue Pen, Tear & Tape Adhesive, 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon, Into the Woods 3/8" Cotton Ribbon, Paper Snips, Craft Scissors, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Standard Cutting Pads, Magnetic Platform, Square Pillow Box Thinlits, Leaflets Framelits, Clear-Mount Block C, Clear-Mount Block E, Clear-Mount Block G, and Clear-Mount Block I.

To make a double-size pillow box, cut two pieces of each color/pattern needed for your box.  But, cut the flap off one end of each piece before adhering the matching pieces together.  Then, align the two box pieces together and put a band of card stock, designer paper, or ribbon around the seam to hide it.  I did adhere a piece of card stock across the inside center of each side to give the box a little more stability.

There is also a piece of Window Sheet behind the cut out leaves on the orange side so that any small items put inside the box won't fall out.
