Inspiration Ink

You've Got This Bowl of Flowers

This is the birthday card I made for my mother-in-law this year.  I used the Sparkly Seasons Photopolymer Set, You've Got This Set, and And Many More Sets to make her a bowl of pretty flowers.

  Uses You've Got This Clear-Mount Set, And Many More Clear-Mount Set, and Sparkly Seasons Photopolymer Set plus Hello Honey Classic Stampin' Pad, Melon Mambo Classic Stampin' Pad, Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad, Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' Ink Refill, Blushing Bride Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, English Garden Designer Series Paper, Window Sheets, Shimmery White Card Stock, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Crystal Effects, 2-Way Glue Pen, Blushing Bride 1/4" Cotton Ribbon, Brights Designer Buttons, Aqua Painters, White StazOn Ink Pad & Refill, Basic Gray Archival Stampin' Pad, Extra-Large Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Paper Snips, Craft Scissors, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Elegant Dots Embossing Folder, Clear-Mount Block D, Clear-Mount Block E, and Clear-Mount Block G.

To create the bowl, I stamped the snowglobe top image from the Sparkly Seasons Set onto a piece of Window Sheet using the White StazOn Ink.  After allowing it to dry, I cut it out by hand using Paper Snips and punched an opening in the top using the Extra-Large Oval Punch.  I then mixed together some Crystal Effects and Mint Macaron Ink Refill with just a tiny amount of water and painted it on to one side of the bowl using an Aqua Painter.  After it had dried a bit, but was still tacky, I adhered it to the card front.

I also used some of the tinted Crystal Effects to paint in the flower stems.

I stamped the flower images from the You've Got This Set in stamped off Basic Gray Archival Ink onto pieces of Shimmery White Card Stock.  Then, I used ink from the pad lids and Aqua Painters to paint in the center of the flowers and randomly add color to the petals.

Another one of the often overlooked stamp sets is the Wanderlust Photopolymer Set.  It is also pictured online only, not in any of the catalogs.  It's also on sale this week as part of the Holiday Extravaganza.  So, I created a Valentine card using it and several other items for sale this week.

No Walk In Wednesday on November 25

Countless Sayings 1 and 2 Cards

The next overlooked sets that I am focusing on are the Countless Sayings 1 and Countless Sayings 2 Photopolymer Sets.  Both of these sets were offered by Stampin' Up! while they were testing out the photopolymer market and can only be viewed online, not in any of the catalogs.  As a result, they are often forgotten even though they are great sets that work well together or on their own.  They are both on sale as part of the Holiday Extravaganza.

I created a pretty love card perfect for Valentine's Day, a wedding, or an anniversary using the Countless Sayings 1 Set and some watercoloring.

Bombs Away Birthday No Singing

I tend to overlook several of the sets that are on sale as part of the Holiday Extravaganza going on right now because they aren't in any of the catalogs.  These were some of the photopolymer sets that Stampin' Up! released while they were testing the market on photopolymer.  You can only see these sets online, but they are still great sets!  Since some of them are on sale, I decided to pull them out and create some samples using them while the Holiday Extravaganza is going on. 

The first set of this type that I am using is the fun Bombs Away Birthday Photopolymer Set.  It's full of some slightly snarky sayings!  I paired it with a couple of other items that are on sale during the Extravaganza and one of the sets from the Holiday Catalog that will be retiring soon.

Every Blessing Bouncing Brayer Star Rays

This is the last of the projects we made in my Club Classes this month.  It features the Every Blessing Set and the Flurry of Wishes Set.  It also showcases the Bouncing Brayer technique.

  Uses Every Blessing Clear-Mount Set and Flurry of Wishes Photopolymer Set plus Elegant Eggplant Classic Stampin' Pad, Perfect Plum Classic Stampin' Pad, Perfect Plum Card Stock, Sahara Sand Card Stock, Very Vanilla Card Stock, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Sahara Sand 7/8" Lace Trim, Metallics Sequin Assortment, 1/8" Mini Brads, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, Brayer, VersaMark Pad, Paper Snips, Craft Scissors, Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Stampin' Trimmer, Clear-Mount Block B, Clear-Mount Block D, and Clear-Mount Block E.

We simply bounced an inked up Brayer at an angle from the top left corner onto a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock a few times.  We rotated the Brayer wheel slightly every so often.  Then, we lightly ran the Brayer over the whole piece and then added a few more rays by bouncing the Brayer again.  Next, we rubbed the whole piece down with the Embossing Buddy before stamping the main image and heat embossing it.

The star is made from the center of the largest snowflake in the Flurry of Wishes Set that is stamped and cut out by hand.  We then secured a silver sequin to the center with a 1/8" Mini Brad.

I did cut apart my main image from the Every Blessing Set so that I could easily stamp only the images I wanted.

Reason for the Season Poinsettia Twisted Card

This is another one of the projects from my Club Classes this month.  This one uses the Reason for the Season Bundle in the Holiday Catalog which easily creates punch art poinsettia flowers.  It is a Twisted Card too, which is a really fun and easy fun fold that creates a pocket on the inside where you could tuck some cash, a check, or a gift card.

  Uses Reason for the Season Photopolymer Set plus Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad, Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad, Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad, Old Olive Card Stock, Real Red Card Stock, Pear Pizzazz Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Gold Glimmer Paper, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Bone Folder, Decorative Label Punch, Festive Flower Builder Punch, Paper Snips, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Multipurpose Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Elegant Dots Embossing Folder, Clear-Mount Block C, and Clear-Mount Block D.

Here's a tip for you.  Use the Festive Flower Builder Punch and punch a scrap piece of paper.  Throw away the punched out pieces.  Lay the piece of paper down and fit the stamps that stamp the veins of the leaves/flowers into the negative spaces with the smooth side of the stamp facing up.  Press Block D down onto the stamps.  Now, you can easily stamp all the pieces at one time and punch them out all at once as they will be properly positioned for punching!
