Each month, I challenge the members of my Stampin' Clubs to create a project for a contest and submit it to me. I assign a theme for them each month.

We received the Happenings Simply Created Card Kit as one of our all-attendee give aways at Leadership in Houston, TX a few weeks ago. This is a marvelous kit! All you have to supply is some ink, a stamp or two, a little adhesive, and a small amount of time. You'll have some beautiful cards put together in no time!

I made these adorable snowmen candy holders as an extra treat for my Club Members who came to Club Classes this month. They are really easy and fun to make with the Envelope Punch Board. These each hold two Andes Mints.
Uses Summer Starfruit Card Stock, Pacific Point Card Stock, Pumpkin Pie Card Stock, Basic Black Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Pacific Point 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Summer Starfruit 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 2-Way Glue Pen, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Craft Scissors, Envelope Punch Board, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Cupcake Builder Punch, and flat candy like a mini York Peppermint Patty, Andes Mints, or Ghiradelli Squares.
You can adjust the measurements as needed for larger candies. For mine, I cut a strip of Whisper White Card Stock to 2 x 8 3/8". I then scored it at 4" and 4 1/4". Next, I folded the card stock up and placed the folded edge at the 2-1/2" mark on the Envelope Punch Board and punched through both sides of the card stock at once. I then flipped the card stock over and lined the folded edge up at the 2-1/2" mark again before punching through both sides of the card stock again.
Just insert the candy you want to use. You might want to use a small amount of SNAIL or some Glue Dots to hold the candy in place.
Tie ribbon or wrap Washi Tape around the neck of the snowman to secure it.
To make the hat, cut a piece of card stock to 1 x 2-1/4" and two pieces of the same color card stock to 3/8 x 2-3/4". Position the 1 x 2-1/4" piece on the Envelope Punch Board so you'll punch the dip in the center. Use the corner rounder punch on the Envelope Punch Board to round off the two corners on the same side as the dip. Adhere the punched 1 x 2-1/4" piece to the top of the snowman's head and adhere the two long pieces to the base on either side. If desired, you can punch a piece of card stock with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and adhere it to the base of the 1 x 2-1/4" piece first so that it appears to be a decorative ribbon on the hat.
Use the leftover bits after punching the hat to make the snowman's mouth and eyes. Adhere them with 2-Way Glue Pen. The carrot nose is just hand cut and adhered with 2-Way Glue Pen. The buttons are made using the circles on the Cupcake Builder Punch and are adhered with a 2-Way Glue Pen.

I had to take a picture of this card instead of scanning it like I usually do because of the Mini Metallic Clothespin. The clothespin does make this card to bulky to mail easily, but it would be great to hand deliver!
Here's another bright, springy card we made in Club Classes this month. It features a couple of FREE items from Sale-A-Bration - the You're Lovely Set and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.
We used the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder in a slightly different way because we actually didn't run it through the Big Shot. Instead, we inked up the folder using a Brayer and then placed the card stock inside. Next, we just rubbed hard all over the folder with our hands to transfer the ink to the card stock. This technique creates a nice subtle background. By the way, the Decorative Dots Folder will be available for purchase in the new big catalog starting in June, but you can earn it for FREE during Sale-A-Bration. Just ask me how!
