Backyard Basics Pistachio Lilies

This is the fourth card we made in my Club Classes this month featuring monochromatic cards. It showcases the soothing Pistachio Pudding color in a simple, clean sympathy card using the new Backyard Basics Set and matching Framelits. Again, the Magnetic Platform was a huge help in properly positioning the intricate Framelit over the stamped image.

Papillon Potpourri Diamond Kissed Butterflies

Here's the third monochromatic card we made in my Club Classes this month. This one highlights the lovely Crisp Cantaloupe color and a little "kissing." We kissed the Butterfly Collection Jumbo Wheel by rolling the inked up wheel across a piece of card stock we'd dry embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder and then wheeling across our white card stock layer. I think this cheery card would help make anyone feel better.

Chalk Talk Soap Tags

I bought these frangipani and coconut soaps as a little extra gift to give my Club Members while I was in Fiji last month. I created these fun little tags for the soaps using the Chalk Talk Set and Framelits and the super fun Simply Pressed Clay and Molds.

Uses Chalk Talk Clear-Mount Set plus Raspberry Ripple Classic Stampin' Pad, 2012-2014 Stampin' Write Markers (Raspberry Ripple), Regals Collection Stampin' Write Markers (Perfect Plum), Raspberry Ripple Card Stock, Crumb Cake Card Stock, Sponge Daubers, Simply Pressed Clay, Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds, Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, Linen Thread, 2-Way Glue Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Paper Snips, Craft Scissors, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Big Shot Magnetic Platform, Standard Cutting Pads, Chalk Talk Framelits, Clear-Mount Block C, and 1/16" Handheld Punch.

I colored the Simply Pressed Clay roses after they were dry by dabbing on color from the ink pad with a Sponge Dauber. I then filled in any uninked areas with the Raspberry Ripple Marker and ran the Dauber over the whole thing again to blend the colors.

Beautifully Baroque Framed Friend

This is the second card we made in my Club Classes this month featuring monochromatic cards showcasing the new In Colors. This time, we paired Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay with the Beautifully Baroque single-image stamp.

I am loving the new Magnetic Platform for the Big Shot. It makes it so easy to precisely place Framelits and not worry about them slipping or sliding which was very important for cutting out the center of the image on this card.

Walk In Wednesday - Flower Shop and Six-Sided Sampler

Walk in Wednesday is a day when you can stop by and pick up orders, place orders, pay for orders, look at displays, ask questions, get help with products, sign up for upcoming events, and stamp a couple of quick and easy projects. The idea is to be in and out quickly!

You can stop by anytime between 2 p.m and 7 p.m. You don't have to tell me in advance that you are coming, just pop by!

Newly retired merchandise is out for sale on a first-come, first-serve basis. I can NOT accept credit cards for retired merchandise purchases, only cash and personal checks.

There are quite a few orders here and ready to be picked up! If you have an order waiting, you should have received an e-mail from me.

By the Seashore Brown Sugar Sea Stars

For my Club Classes this month, I decided to focus on monochromatic cards featuring our new In Colors.

Here's my first creation highlighting the yummy Baked Brown Sugar color and a new technique I created where you sand a piece of Core'dinations Card Stock laid on top of a solid image stamp. I used the sea star image from the By the Seashore Set again for this technique. I love that the Naturals Ivory Card Stock is the perfect match to the core color of the Baked Brown Sugar Core'dinations Card Stock.

Paper Pumpkin Try It Kit Ideas

Here is the project Stampin' Up! intended for you to make with the materials included in the Paper Pumpkin Try It Kit:

It's a cute little journal for you to keep handy to jot down notes, reminders, shopping lists, phone numbers, addresses, etc.

You get two of these little journals in each Try It Kit though. So, here's an alternative idea for the second one:

Uses Simple Serif Wood-Mount Set (retired, but a similar set called Simply Serif Mini Alphabet Wood-Mount Set is stil available) plus Paper Pumpkin Try It Kit, 2012-2014 In Color Stampin' Write Markers (Gumball Green), Summer Starfruit Card Stock, Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper, SNAIL Adhesive, 2-Way Glue Pen, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Trimmer (for scoring punched pieces to make tabs), Craft Scissors, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, and Decorative Label Punch.

I actually had three of these Try It Kits on hand so that I could make two journals for myself and four of the coupon holders as extra treats for my June Club Hostesses and the first two ladies to get their June Club Orders turned in. I got the idea for the coupon holder from my awesome upline, Janet Wakeland.

First, I glued pages together to make them a little stronger using SNAIL Adhesive. Then, I adhered these stronger pages together on the sides using Sticky Strip to make pockets. The tabs across the top are made by punching out Decorative Label pieces, scoring them across the short middle, folding them over, and adhering them to the back side of each pocket. I deliberatly left the tabs blank so the ladies who get them can write in their own categories. Some ideas for coupons to store in these holders might be "Car," "Restaurant," "Department Store," "Drug Store," or various types of grocery products. I then adhered the front and back covers to those pages and adhered the center pockets together with Sticky Strip. Everything is held closed by tying the Baker's Twine that comes in the Try It Kit around the center.

After making the journals and coupon holders, I still had some Baker's Twine and self-adhesive butterflies left over, plus the negative space images from the butterflies. Of course, I had the Island Indigo Ink Spot, the Clear-Mount Block, and the two stamps that come in the Kit as well which I can reuse again and again on a variety of projects. So, I decided to use the left overs to make these cards to send out whenever I want to let someone know I am thinking about them. These cards use the materials in the Paper Pumpkin Try It Kit plus the extra materials as indicated next to each card.

Also uses Gumball Green Classic Stampin' Pad, Gumball Green Card Stock, Summer Starfruit Card Stock, SNAIL Adhesive, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, Paper Snips, Craft Scissors, and 1-3/4" Circle Punch.

Also uses Gumball Green Classic Stampin' Pad, Summer Starfruit Classic Stampin' Pad, 2012-2014 In Color Stampin' Write Markers (Summer Starfruit), Summer Starfruit Card Stock, Very Vanilla Card Stock, Sponge Daubers, SNAIL Adhesive, and Stampin' Trimmer.

For this next card, I peeled the negative image left over after using all the butterflies away from the backing paper and dabbed the back with the Embossing Buddy so it would no longer be sticky. Then, I laid the piece down on my white card stock layer and sponged through the butterfly shaped spaces with Sponge Daubers in the three colors of ink. When I removed the negative image piece, I was left with these fun little butterflies!

Also uses Gumball Green Classic Stampin' Pad, Summer Starfruit Classic Stampin' Pad, Gumball Green Card Stock, Summer Starfruit Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Island Indigo Card Stock, Sponge Daubers, Embossing Buddy, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, and Paper Snips.

I then looked at the negative image piece I was left with and decided to use it on some more cards! I just punched each set of two butterflies out with the Modern Label Punch and sponged on a little more ink as needed with the Sponge Daubers.

Also uses Summer Starfruit Classic Stampin' Pad, Gumball Green Card Stock, Summer Starfruit Card Stock, Sponge Daubers, SNAIL Adhesive, Glue Dots, 2-Way Glue Pen, Stampin' Trimmer, Craft Scissors, and Modern Label Punch.

Hello, Lovely Ideas

I had lots of fun playing with my versatile new Hello, Lovely Set the other day. Here are a few different ideas I came up with. Enjoy!

At Leadership back in January, one of the presenters said that she liked the use of the ampersand on cards and packages because it made her think you were saying the recepient was all kinds ofwonderful things. As in, "You are lovely and talented and kind and friendly and awesome and ..." So, I used that idea on this simple, modern feel card. I think it would be great for a guy or a girl! Of course, you could use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to carefully line up the ampersands across the background, but I just free handed mine. Y'all know I'm too lazy to pull out the Stamp-a-ma-jig unless I absolutely have to!

It was really easy to create the Pool Party chevrons I used on this card. I just punched part way into a scrap of card stock with the new Hexagon Punch and then slid the card stock over a bit and punched again. Voila, a perfect chevron!

I went a little more feminine and frilly with this next card. I love the color combination and thought the ampersand after the sentiment helped to say "thank you and more!"

Operation Write Home Cards Mailed

I mailed another big box full of cards to Operation Write Home this afternoon. Here's what got sent:

68 birthday cards
41 friendship/hello cards
27 thinking of you cards
27 thank you cards
21 love cards
14 Christmas cards
10 get well cards
8 congratulations/graduation cards
6 other holiday cards (Easter, spring)
3 sympathy cards
2 new baby cards
2 wedding/anniversary cards

They still need more cards though! So, I'm still accepting donations. I have a box to accept donated cards at all of my events or you can just drop them by or mail them to me at any time. Just remember the basic rules - absolutely no glitter, no handwritten messages anywhere on the card, must be handmade, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" size much preferred, and put liner of plain white paper inside cards with dark card stock bases.

Operation Write Home is a charity project that provides handmade cards to our military service members who are deployed so they can write home. They accept donations of handmade cards with envelopes and send them to the troops so they can choose the card they need to send a message home.

Gorgeous Grunge Golden Birthday

This card is one I created the other day while playing with my new toys on a rainy day. It's one I just had to create because I couldn't get the idea out of my head until I did. I heavily CASE'd (Copy And Selectively Enhanced) some cards that were shown on stage at Leadership back in January, but used a new stamp set, Gorgeous Grunge, and a new In Color, Baked Brown Sugar. What do you think? Did I do good to get it out of my head?
