I'm kind of bummed. I placed an order for a whole bunch of new goodies from the new catalog last weekend. Because I really, really wanted the new toys here in time for my Club Classes to be able to play with them this weekend, I went ahead and paid the extra fee to have the order sent to me using 2-Day Air. I was looking forward to getting all the new stuff and creating some wonderful new projects to wow my Club Members, especially since I'm so close to earning the Fiji incentive trip I can almost taste it!
Unfortunately, I don't have wonderful new stuff to play with after all! Why? Well that's an excellent question which UPS seems to be unable to answer. My box was supposed to arrive on Wednesday. It didn't. The tracking on my box showed that it had arrived in Baltimore late Tuesday night and was on it's way out of Baltimore on Wednesday morning, but it also said that late Tuesday night there had been a "mechanical failure" followed 10 minutes later by a "natural disaster" that occurred at exactly the same time as yet another "mechanical failure."
When my box had not shown up by noon yesterday, I started calling around. UPS tried to tell me there had been a natural disaster in Baltimore which had affected my shipment. Um, I don't think so! I live just outside of Baltimore and hadn't heard of any natural disasters lately. Then, they told me there had been a fire on the truck but most of the packages had been salvaged and I'd most likely still be getting my stuff. But, then later I heard maybe there had not been a fire on the truck after all. They really don't seem to know. No matter what caused it all, my package is nowhere to be found!
Stampin' Up! has officially requested that UPS put out a tracer on the package and generously reshipped everything to me. But, because it was so late by the time everything was decided yesterday afternoon, my reshipment wasn't able to go out until today. So, no new goodies until after my Club Classes are over.
So, I'm bummed.
Wow. that really puts a damper on things. Yay for SU! reshipping... take a deep breath and stamp on! ;)

Michelle, I am so sorry for you! I know how hard it is waiting for that box of new stuff to arrive! And then to have a circus with UPS! Maybe you can have that as a theme -- circus! :)
I'm waiting patiently for my own box - and I live just outside of DC -- I hope we didn't have the same "natural disaster" or worse -- a fire! that would be terrible!

Oh Michele, that's awful. Even with this happening I just know you will have a fun class. Your so talented that it will be fun to see what you come up with! Plus from past posts it looks like you have such a fun group of stampers so I'm sure they will understand.
Have a great weekend...anyway! :0)
Stamping hugs,
Shirley
