There is a website I enjoy called Cake Wrecks. It's always good for a laugh or a "head desk" thunk as most of the cakes featured are disasters of decorating, spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. However, on Sundays, the featured cakes are gorgeous masterpieces of baked art.
The other day, there was a special post featuring zoetrope cakes. A zoetrope is an old-fashioned entertainment device that gave the illusion of motion to images when spun. If you click here, you'll go to the post with these cool cakes.
I got the idea to create a zoetrope card and it worked. So, here it is for you to enjoy!

Directions
1) Cut a piece of Tempting Turquoise Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" using the Paper Cutter.
2) Score the card stock along the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" using the Scoring Blade on the Paper Cutter. Fold in half to make card.
3) Cut a piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock to 4 x 5 1/4".
4) Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8".
5) Stamp sentiment in Tempting Turquoise Ink in center of bottom of white rectangle.
6) Place stamped white rectangle into the Perfect Polka Dots Folder. Make sure you can read the sentiment on the card stock and the logos on the folder.
7) Build a a sandwich of Multipurpose Platform with Tab 2 open, one Standard Cutting Pad, embossing folder with card stock inside as outlined in step 6, and the other Standard Cutting Pad. Run through the Big Shot.
8) Adhere the stamped, dry embossed white rectangle to the Daffodil Delight rectangle and then to the front of the turquoise card.
9) Punch a circle from a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch.
10) Poke a hole in the center of the circle for a brad using the Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pack pieces. Do NOT insert a brad yet though.
11) Punch small circles using the Cupcake Builder Punch from scraps of Daffodil Delight Card Stock, Tempting Turquoise Card Stock, and Lucky Limeade Card Stock.
12) Carefully place the circles in a spiral pattern radiating out from the poked hole in the center of the white circle. I found it best to place the circles without adhering them yet so I could move them around as needed.
13) Once you have the spiral pattern designed, carefully adhere each small circle in place using the 2-Way Glue Pen.
14) Use the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch to punch a scallop circle from a scrap of Tempting Turquoise Card Stock.
15) Adhere the white circle with the dots to the center of the scallop circle.
16) Cut a piece of Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine about 2 feet long.
17) Turn the scallop circle over and adhere one end of the Baker's Twine to the center of the scallop circle using a small piece of Sticky Strip.
18) Carefully remove the center circle from one of the Shaker Frames without removing the shiny, protective covering.
19) Adhere the Shaker Frame circle to the center of the back side of the scallop circle by pressing the self-adhesive side to the card stock. Do NOT remove the shiny, protective covering from the other side.
20) Cut a piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock to 3 1/4" square.
21) Cut a piece of Window Sheet to 1" square.
22) Adhere the square of Window Sheet to the center of the Daffodil Delight square using SNAIL.
23) Place the scallop circle right side up on top of the Daffodil Delight square so it is centered over the Window Sheet.
24) Use the Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pack pieces to poke a hole through the original hole and through all the layers below it.
25) Insert a Silver Mini Brad and secure on the back side by folding the prongs flat.
26) Cut a piece of Tempting Turquoise Card Stock to 3 3/8" square.
27) Adhere the Daffodil Delight square to the Tempting Turquoise square and then to the front of the card so it is centered over the sentiment.
28) Punch a scrap of Lucky Limeade Card Stock with the Jewelry Tag Punch.
29) Punch a hole in the top of the tag using the 1/16" Circle Handheld Punch.
30) Thread the end of the Baker's Twine through the hole and tie in a knot. Trim off excess.
31) Use the Lucky Limeade Marker to write the word "Pull" on both sides of the tag.
32) Carefully wind the twine around the Shaker Frame piece behind the scallop circle image. Leave the tag hanging free so it can easily be grabbed and pulled.
33) Pull the tag to see the zoetrope effect. The faster you pull, the cooler it looks!
34) Rewind the twine before giving the card away.
Tips
I used the Paper-Piercing Tool to help me move the little circles around while I was designing the spiral pattern.
I found that the zoetrope piece would spin better if I put the small piece of Window Sheet between the Shaker Frame piece and the card stock base. It gave it a nice slick surface to spin against.
I had to use the Silver Mini Brads to hold the zoetrope piece together because they have longer prongs than most brads do.
Try using a Floss Threader to help thread Baker's Twine, Linen Thread, and Ribbon through small holes in buttons or punched pieces.
The Paper-Piercing Tool, Mat Pack, and Paper Cutter are being retired in their current configurations. They are being reconfigured in improved forms and will be available again in the new forms in the new catalog effective June 1.
This is so cool, Michele! Once again you prove how creative you are!
