Today's project is another one of the cards we made in my Club Classes this month. We concentrated on different ways to use Designer Series Paper in the classes. This card showcases the Twitterpated Designer Paper in a folded paper frame. The folded paper frames are really easy to make now that we have a Diagonal Plate for the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Enjoy!

Directions
1) Cut a piece of Riding Hood Red Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" using the Paper Cutter.
2) Score the card stock along the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" using the Scoring Blade on the Paper Cutter. Fold in half to make card.
3) Cut a piece of Basic Gray Card Stock to 4 x 5 1/4".
4) Cut a piece of Riding Hood Red Card Stock to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8".
5) Place the rectangle of Riding Hood Red Card Stock into the Stripes Embossing Folder so only about 2" of the card stock along one short edge will be embossed.
6) Build a a sandwich of Multipurpose Platform with Tab 2 open, one Standard Cutting Pad, embossing folder with card stock inside as outlined in step 5, and the other Standard Cutting Pad. Run through the Big Shot.
7) Adhere the embossed red card stock to the gray rectangle.
8) Adhere a piece of Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon to the rectangles so it covers the top of the embossed area on the red layer.
9) Cut a piece of the striped pattern paper in the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper to 3 1/4" square.
10) Place the Diagonal Plate onto the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Make sure the arrow on the back of the plate is pointing to the top of the tool's platform.
11) Place the square of designer paper on the platform so it is flush with the left top corner.
12) Score diagonally from the center of the paper (the 1-5/8" mark) to the right edge of the paper.
13) Score diagonally again from the top of the paper to the right edge at the 2" mark.
14) Rotate the paper a quarter turn and score again diagonally at the 1-5/8" and 2" marks. Rotate and score until all four corners of the paper have been scored.
15) With the stripes pattern of the paper facing up, fold all four corners in towards the center along the inner score lines.
16) Fold all four corners back out along the outer score lines.
17) Put SNAIL Adhesive on the back of the folded paper frame in the center, flat, square section. Adhere the folded paper frame to the top of the red layer of card stock just above the ribbon. Make sure the four points are creating a diamond shape.
18) Place a Stampin' Dimensional behind each point (on the gray pattern side of the paper). Remove the protective backing from the Dimensional and adhere each point down.
19) Use the Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pack pieces to poke a hole in the lower right corner of the frame.
20) Insert a Pear Pizzazz Glimmer Brad and secure on the back side of the layers by folding the prongs flat.
21) Adhere the layers to the front of the Riding Hood Red card.
22) Punch a scrap of Basic Gray Card Stock with the 1-3/8" Square Punch.
23) Punch a scrap of Pear Pizzazz Card Stock with the Postage Stamp Punch.
24) Stamp the image from the Pretty Postage Set onto a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock using Riding Hood Red Ink.
25) Punch the image out using the 1" Square Punch.
26) Layer the punched squares and adhere them together.
27) Adhere the squares to the center of the folded paper frame using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Tips
I like to adhere ribbon by tucking the ends of the ribbon around to the back side of the card stock and holding them in place with small strips of Sticky Strip. This uses less ribbon and lays flatter.
I like to keep some scissors just for cutting Sticky Strip. That way I don't get my good scissors all gummed up and dull.
The Twitterpated Designer Series Paper is only available through the end of April.
To help you remember where to score the lines on your designer paper, you can use the Place Markers that come with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Just pop them into the spaces at the 1 5/8" and 2" marks along the top ruler.
The item number for the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate is 125586.
The Pear Pizzazz Card Stock and In Color 2010-2012 Glimmer Brads will be retiring soon since they are the older In Colors. Since these are accessories, they will only be available while supplies last or until May 31, 2012 whichever comes first. If you'd like to order either of these products, please do so soon to make sure you can get them.
Be careful when stamping with red ink to make sure it has plenty of time to dry before you touch the card stock or it might smear. Red inks seem to take a little longer to dry for some reason.
The item number for the 1" Square Punch is 124094.
