Directions
1) Cut a piece of Island Indigo Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" using the Paper Cutter.
2) Score the card stock along the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" using the Scoring Blade on the Paper Cutter. Fold in half to make card.
3) Cut a piece of Pool Party Card Stock to 4 x 5 1/4".
4) Ink up the sentiment image with Island Indigo Ink and stamp in the center of the Pool Party rectangle about 1-1/4" up from the bottom.
5) Ink up the three flowers image with Pool Party Ink and stamp randomly all over the Pool Party rectangle. Remember to reink the stamp each time.
6) Clean the stamp with the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub.
7) Adhere the stamped Pool Party rectangle to the Island Indigo card front.
8) Cut a rectangle of Confetti White Card Stock to 2 1/2" x 3 1/4".
9) Place the Confetti White rectangle over the medium sized oval on the Ovals Originals Die.
10) Build a sandwich of one Standard Cutting Pad, Die with card stock positioned on top, and the other Standard Cutting Pad. Run through the Big Shot.
11) Put a small amount of Dotto on the oval you just cut out. Then, position the oval so it is centered over the oval in the oval frame embossing folder from the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Set.
12) Build a sandwich of Multipurpose Platform with Tab 2 open, one Standard Cutting Pad, Embossing Folder with card stock inside, and the other Standard Cutting Pad. Run through the Big Shot.
13) Adhere the textured oval to the center of your card over the sentiment.
14) Ink up the bird, branch, and wing image with Island Indigo Ink and stamp onto a scrap of Pool Party Card Stock.
15) Clean the stamp with the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub.
16) Punch out the images using the Bird Builder Punch. Set aside the bird and wing and throw away the branch or save it for another project.
17) Ink up just the branch image using the Always Artichoke Marker and stamp onto a scrap of Lucky Limeade Card Stock.
18) Punch out the branch using the Bird Builder Punch.
19) Use the 2-Way Glue Pen to adhere the branch to the oval on the card front so it is just below center and the leaves stick out to the left side of the oval. Trim off the right side of the stem if necessary.
20) Adhere the bird image to the oval so it appears to be sitting on the branch.
21) Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the wing to the bird.
22) Ink up the three flowers image with Island Indigo Ink and stamp onto a scrap of Pool Party Card Stock. Pay attention to the positioning of the stamped images for best results (see my tip below).
23) Punch out the flowers using the Boho Blossoms Punch.
24) Adhere the large flower to the top right of the oval using a Stampin' Dimensional. Adhere the medium flower to the left of the sentiment using a Stampin' Dimensional. Set the small flower aside for now.
25) Punch a strip of Lucky Limeade Card Stock with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch so that you get at least one complete flower somewhere on the border.
26) Position the 3/4" Circle Punch over the flower in the center of a flower in your border strip and punch it out.
27) Adhere the small stamped flower to the center of the small flower you punched out of the border strip.
28) Adhere the small flowers to the right side of the oval over the end of the branch using a Stampin' Dimensional.
29) Adhere two small Basic Rhinestones Jewels to the centers of the smaller flowers and a medium Basic Rhinestones Jewel to the center of the larger flower.
Tips
I recommend stamping the sentiment first. That way, if it is crooked or not centered properly, you can turn your card stock over and stamp again and you haven't spent time stamping anything else.
Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub are the easiest, quickest way to clean your stamps. Plus, the conditioners in the Stampin' Mist will keep your stamps in great condition.
Dotto is a repositionable adhesive. It will hold your oval in place while you run it through the Big Shot in the embossing folder, but can easily be removed by just rubbing the adhesive off with your finger.
I recommend using a heavier weight of card stock such as Naturals White, Naturals Ivory, Confetti White, Confetti Cream, or any of our colored card stocks when using the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Set. They hold up better to the fine detail of these embossing folders and are less likely to tear and crease.
To properly position the stamped images of the three flowers to make them easier to punch out, pay attention to the layout of the punch. Lay the punch on your work surface upside down so you can see the punching area. If you are using a Wood-Mount stamp, rotate it so that the images line up with the punching surfaces and stamp them onto your card stock at that angle. If you are using a Clear-Mount stamp, you can place the stamp directly onto the cutting surfaces of the punch so that they line up. Then, gently press the Clear-Mount Block onto the back of the stamp. Remove the stamp and press the Clear-Mount stamp more firmly onto the block before stamping.
With most punches, it is easier to position them if you hold them upside down so that you can see the cutting surfaces. You'll then be able to position your card stock as desired before punching.
For best results with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch, leave it sitting on your work surface. Line the card stock up by pressing it up against the back lip and lining it up with the printed guide on the punch base. You may need to stand up and/or use two hands to press down on the Lace Ribbon Border Punch in order to punch all the way through your card stock. This punch is very detailed, so it takes a little more effort to use!
After punching the flowers out of the centers of the flowers in a strip punched with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch, you'll be left with a strip that looks like this:
You can use this strip on another project!
I've found the easiest way to pick up and position the Basic Rhinestones Jewels is to use the tips of the Paper Snips like a pair of flat tweezers.
