I got the idea for these adorable little pillow boxes from a fellow Demonstrator, Jill Hilliard. She got the idea from someone else. I made a bunch of these for my Club Members and filled them with Peanut Butter M&Ms and included them in their May Club Orders. Enjoy!

Directions
1) Cut a piece of card stock in the desired color (I used Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, and So Saffron) to 5 1/4 x 5 3/4".
2) Build a sandwich of one Standard Cutting Pad, Pillow Box Die, card stock, and Crease Pad and run through the Big Shot.
3) Fold the pillow box along the score lines.
4) Add a strip of Sticky Strip along the one skinny flap on the side of the box and adhere the box together.
5) Use the Heart to Heart Punch to punch some hearts from a scrap of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock.
6) Adhere the short, fat heart to the bottom of the box in the center so the heart is upside down and hangs over the bottom edge just a bit. This makes the owl's feet.
7) Use the Large Oval Punch to punch five ovals from a piece of Play Date Designer Paper in the pattern and color you want.
8) Adhere one oval vertically in the center of the box so it overlaps the top of the heart.
9) Adhere the other four ovals to the box so they overlap a bit and create a feathered body for the owl.
10) Adhere the long, skinny heart you punched out to the box so the point at the bottom of the heart is centered and overlaps the body a bit. This is the owl's beak.
11) Punch two ovals from a scrap of the same color of card stock as the box using the Large Oval Punch.
12) Adhere the card stock ovals to the box so they overlap the body a bit and the top of the beak.
13) Punch two circles from a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock using the 1-1/4" Circle Punch.
14) Punch two circles from a scrap of Basic Black Card Stock using the 1" Circle Punch.
15) Adhere the black circles to the white circles to make eyes.
16) Adhere the circles to the box so they overlap the top of the beak and wings.
17) Use the Gel Pen to add a dot of white to the black part of the eyes.
18) Fill with treats and give to some one to get a smile!
Tips
The Crease Pad is recommended for use with Dies that cut and score your card stock to give you nice, crisp score lines. You may need to add a shim of lightweight cardboard (the stuff that comes in our packages of Designer Series Papers works great). Experiment with your Big Shot, Die, and card stock or paper that you are cutting to find out what works best for you as each Big Shot and Die is slightly different.
I found that it was best to use Sticky Strip to attach the wings and the eyes to the front of the box. Otherwise the bowing of the box and the previous layers causes them to peel up a bit.
The White Gel Pen can take a little while to dry so be careful not to smear it.
Please remember that retiring accessories are only available while supplies last. Since I am out of touch for awhile due to family commitments surrounding my son's college graduation, I encourage you to place an online order for any retiring accessories you might want to make sure you have a chance to get them. Just click on the "Shop Now" flower button in the upper right corner.
Michele, Love the owl, except they don't have the pillow box die anymore, what else could you use for this? Love your work,
