Directions
1) Cut a piece of Poppy Parade Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2". Score and fold in half to make card.
2) Cut a piece of Tempting Turquoise Card Stock to 4 x 5 1/4".
3) Repeatedly stamp candle image from Party This Way Set in Tempting Turquoise Ink along the bottom. Vary the heighth and angle of the candles a little. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
4) Ink up the sentiment stamp from the Party This Way Set using Poppy Parade Ink and stamp it over the candles on the right side.
5) Adhere the stamped turquoise rectangle to the card front.
6) Cut a piece of Pawsitively Prints II Designer Series Paper to 4 1/4" square.
7) Put the black scoring blade piece into the track of the Paper Cutter.
8) Place the square of Designer Paper on the Paper Cutter so it looks like a diamond. Line up the top and bottom points on the 1 1/2" mark. Lightly drag the scoring blade across the paper to score it.
9) Carefully move the square of paper over so the top and bottom points are on the 2" mark. Lightly drag the scoring blade across the paper to score it.
10) Rotate the paper a quarter turn and line up the new top and bottom points on the 1 1/2" mark and score. Move the paper over and line up the points at the 2" mark and score.
11) Repeat step 10 on the remaining two sides of the paper.
12) Fold each of the points in towards the center of the square along the 1 1/2" score lines (the score lines closest to the center of the square).
13) Fold each of the points back out along the 2" score lines (the score lines closest to the outer edges of the square).
14) Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock to 2 1/2" square.
15) Stamp the square spinner image from the Take a Spin Set in Tempting Turquoise Ink in the center of the white rectangle.
16) Adhere the spinner image to the center of the folded frame.
17) Fold the flaps in and adhere them in place so they frame the solid frame around the spinner image. The flaps will cover the "It's Your Birthday" words around the edges of the image.
18) Fold the smaller flaps back out and adhere them in place.
19) Poke a hole in the center of the spinner image using the Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pack pieces.
20) Place a washer over the hole and then place the spinner hand on top of the washer. Insert a brad and secure on the back side. Don't tighten the brad too securely or your spinner hand won't spin!
21) Put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the paper frame and adhere it to the card front.
Tips
When using the scoring blade on Designer Series Paper, be careful not to press too hard or you'll actually cut through the paper.
You might want to practice scoring on a piece of printer or copier paper first to make sure you aren't pressing too hard and to make sure you are scoring in the right places.
If you want a different pattern to show on the points, simply unfold your square, flip it over, and fold it again.
If you are using a different scoring tool, you might need to adjust your measurements a bit. Again, practice first on a piece of printer or copier paper.
You can find a great tutorial with step-by-step directions and pictures by clicking here. Keep in mind that this tutorial does use a different scoring tool, so the measurements are different.
