I had so much fun making this card! I'm not sure who I'm going to give it too since my little niece doesn't have a birthday until November, but I sure had fun making it!

1) Cut a piece of Bermuda Bay Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2". Score and fold in half to make card.
2) Cut a piece of Melon Mambo Card Stock to 4 x 5 1/4".
3) Cut a piece of small multi-colored heart patterned paper from the Welcome Neighbor Paper Pad to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8".
4) Cut a strip each of Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay Card Stock to 1 1/4 x 5 1/2".
5) Punch one long edge of each of the long strips of card stock with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.
6) Run each punched strip of card stock through the Crimper. Flatten the crimped strips back out a little so they aren't so bulky.
7) Adhere the crimped, punched Pretty in Pink strip to the bottom of the heart Designer Paper about 1/4" up from the bottom. Trim off excess card stock as needed.
8) Adhere the crimped, punched Melon Mambo strip on top of the Pretty in Pink strip so about 1/4" of the Pretty in Pink shows. Trim off excess card stock as needed.
9) Adhere the crimped, punched Bermuda Bay strip on top of the Melon Mambo strip so about 1/4" of the Melon Mambo shows. Trim off excess card stock as needed.
10) Adhere the patterned paper with punched, crimped strips to the Melon Mambo rectangle.
11) Adhere a piece of Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon across the paper so it covers the seam between the Bermuda Bay strip and the patterned paper. Tie a small piece of ribbon to the ribbon on the card front on the right side and trim ends.
12) Adhere the card front to the Bermuda Bay card.
13) Stamp the pinata image from the Cumpleanos Set in Bermuda Bay Ink on a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock.
14) Use the Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, and Pretty in Pink Markers to color in the white spaces on the pinata.
15) Punch out the pinata image with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.
16) Cut a piece of checkerboard patterned paper from the Crushed Curry Patterns Paper pack to 1 1/4 x 12".
17) Punch one long side of the Crushed Curry strip with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.
18) Run the punched Crushed Curry strip through the Crimper.
19) Put Sticky Strip all along the edges on the back side of the pinata circle. It's okay to have the Sticky Strip bunch up in places so you can make it turn.
20) Remove the protective red backing on the Sticky Strip.
21) Lay one end of the crimped, punched Crushed Curry strip on the Sticky Strip on back of the circle. Make sure the punched edge is facing out and the design you want to have show is facing down.
22) Working slowly, pinch the Crushed Curry strip along the crimps and adhere it to the back of the circle so that it goes all the way around and frames the circle.
23) Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the framed pinata image to the card front on the left side.
24) Stamp the "make a wish" sentiment from the A Little Birthday Cheer Set in Melon Mambo Ink onto a scrap of Pretty in Pink Card Stock.
25) Punch out the sentiment with the Word Window Punch.
26) Use the Modern Label Punch to punch a scrap of Bermuda Bay Card Stock.
27) Adhere the punched sentiment to the Modern Label punch and then to the card front.
The Cumpleanos Set is only pictured in the Spanish catalog, however, it is available to anyone to purchase at any time. It does not contain any words, so you don't have to speak Spanish to use it. The images are of the pinata, a balloon, a present, and a party hat. It is available for FREE until the end of Sale-A-Bration 2010 with qualifying orders.
When punching with our border punches, you can contain the mess by punching inside the large Powder Pal tray. All the little bits of card stock will stay in the tray for easy disposal instead of getting all over your work surface.
Be sure you punch the strips of Card Stock and Designer Paper before running them through the Crimper.
I like to cut pieces of Card Stock and Designer Paper that I'm going to crimp longer than I think I'll actually need because the crimping process does shorten things. You can always trim off excess if needed.
The easiest way to crimp straight is to gently squeeze the Crimper closed. Push one end of the item to be crimped lightly into the space where the two crimping rollers meet. Turn the handle away from you until the entire piece has gone through the Crimper. Look carefully at the Crimper and note the two arrows on the blue portion showing you where to insert the item to be crimped.
