This week's project is a Valentine card. I figured most of you were done with your Christmas cards by now and were about ready to start work on the next big card-giving holiday! This card could also be used for a feminine birthday, anniversary, wedding, or bridal shower card with just a simple change of sentiment. It uses our gorgeous Bride Specialty Paper that has been altered just a bit. Enjoy!

Directions
1) Cut a piece of Pretty in Pink Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2". Score and fold in half to make card.
2) Cut a piece of Bride Specialty Paper swirl pattern to 4 x 5 1/4".
3) Put Post-It Notes across the bottom of the card about 1 1/2" up from the bottom edge. These will mask off the top of the specialty paper so it doesn't get ink on it.
4) Get some Melon Mambo Ink on a Sponge Dauber and rub it directly onto the exposed area of specialty paper on the bottom. Repeat until you get good color coverage.
5) Use a clean tissue or paper towel to buff off excess ink that will accumulate on the foil designs in the specialty paper.
6) Remove the Post-It Notes.
7) Adhere a piece of Melon Mambo Polka-Dot Ribbon to the paper so it hides the line between the colored and uncolored paper. Make sure the dotted side of the ribbon is facing down.
8) Adhere colored specialty paper to card.
9) Stamp sentiment of choice from Teeny Tiny Wishes Set in Melon Mambo Ink onto a scrap of Pretty in Pink Card Stock.
10) Punch out sentiment with Word Window Punch.
11) Adhere sentiment to bottom right corner of card front.
12) Stamp heart image from Always Set in VersaMark Ink onto a scrap of Pretty in Pink Card Stock.
13) Sprinkle on White Embossing Powder and tap off excess.
14) Heat image until the embossing powder is melted.
15) Carefully cut out the heart image.
16) Use the Sponge Dauber and Melon Mambo Ink to add some color to the center of the heart. Work from the center out so that the color fades away as it reaches the edges.
17) Use the Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pack to poke a hole in the heart in the center of the flower in the bottom right corner.
18) Insert a large pink Rhinestone Brad and secure on the back of the heart.
19) Cut a piece of Silver Elastic Cord and tie a knot in one end.
20) Thread a tear-drop crystal bead from the Pretties Kit onto the Elastic Cord.
21) Adhere the top of the Elastic Cord to the back of the heart image using Sticky Strip so that the bead hangs just below the tip of the heart.
22) Adhere the heart image to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Tips
You could also use a Stamping Sponge or the Brayer to add the color to the bottom part of the Bride Specialty Paper. I just used a Sponge Dauber because you get a little more control and it is less messy!
The Powder Pals are not required but are highly recommended. They are great for containing fine substances like embossing powder, glitter, or beads so the excess can easily be returned to containers.
