Accessory of the Month Class - Wood Sheets Follow-Up

Last night I held my October Accessory of the Month Class where we focused on using Wood Sheets.  Everyone who attended the Class pre-ordered their own package of Wood Sheets.  They found their package of Wood Sheets waiting for them when they arrived along with everything else they needed to complete the 5 cards shown here.  They got to take the rest of their package of Wood Sheets home with them so they can make their own creations using this versatile new accessory.

Halloween Sweet Treats

I made a bunch of these to send to my nieces and nephews and also gave a bunch to my college son who is an RA so he could give them out to his residents as a Halloween treat.  The tag pulls out of the pocket card so that the candy can be removed without tearing up the card and to reveal the "eek" sentiment on the front of the tag.  For the ones I sent to my son, I substituted the "eek" sentiment for some of the images in the Batty For You Set instead.  I figured he'd be more comfortable giving his residents things that said "bad to the bone," "creepy crawly, oh my golly," "trick or treat, smell my feet," or "you light up the place with that smile on your face" than with "eek, you're sweet!"

Pumpkin Baskets

I got this marvelously creative idea from another Demo.  Aren't these the cleverest pumpkin baskets?  They are really easy to make too since they use the Pillow Box Bigz Die and the Big Shot.  The faces are made using a variety of Punches.  I made several of these and filled them with cellophane bags full of candy and sent them to my nieces and nephews and my son at college as Halloween treats.

Directions

1)  Cut a piece of Old Olive Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2".  Score and fold in half to make a card.

2)  Cut a piece of Summer Sun Card Stock to 4 x 5 1/4".

3)  Secure a piece of Pumpkin Pie 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon to the bottom of the Summer Sun rectangle.

4)  Stamp the sentiment from the Pocket Silhouettes Set in Pumpkin Pie Ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Card Stock.

5)  Punch out the sentiment with the Word Window Punch.

6)  Punch a scrap of Old Olive Card Stock with the Modern Label Punch.

7)  Adhere the sentiment to the Modern Label punch out and then to the center of the ribbon.

8)  Adhere the Summer Sun rectangle to the card front.

9)  Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock to 3 1/8 x 3 1/8".

10)  Ink up the lily-like flower spray from the Pocket Silhouettes Set with Old Olive Ink.  Stamp it in one corner of the Very Vanilla square on a diagonal.

11)  Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again in the next corner on a diagonal so the stems overlap the first image a little.

12)  Repeat step 11 in the other 2 corners.  You should have a rough ring of images.

13)  Clean the stamp.

14)  Repeat steps 10 through 12 using the Pumpkin Pie Ink.  Stamp these images just a little off from the Old Olive ones.

15)  Clean the stamp.

16)  Repeat steps 10 through 12 using the Summer Sun Ink.  Stamp these images a little off from the others.

17)  If you want to, add a few more images in Summer Sun Ink that has been stamped off first onto scratch paper to fill in the wreath.

18)  Cut a piece of Old Olive Card Stock to 3 3/8 x 3 3/8".

19)  Adhere the stamped vanilla square to the green square and then to the card front above the ribbon.

20)  Tie a small piece of the Pumpkin Pie 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in an overhand knot.  Trim the ends in a curve.

21)  Adhere the ribbon knot to the top left side of the wreath using a Mini Glue Dot.

Tips

Stampin' Mist and a Stampin' Scrub is the best way to clean your stamps.  The Stampin' Mist contains conditioners that help keep the rubber from drying out and becoming brittle.

Our Craft & Paper Scissors on page 191 for $29.95 are the absolute best for cutting ribbon!

You can make a similar card using any stamp set with a spray of flowers or leaves similar to the one I used from the Pocket Silhouettes Set.  Try using the poinsettia spray in the Gifts of Christmas Set on page 37 by coloring the stamp with Markers in reds and greens, the spray of berries from the Always Set on page 54, the basil stamp (minus the words) from the Herb Expressions Set on page 55, the spray of berries from the Autumn Days Set on page 92, the leaf spray from the Great Friend Set on page 107, the leaf spray from the Fresh Cuts Set on page 107, several of the stamps in the Leaf Lines Set on page 111, the small swirl image from the Priceless Set on page 130, the vine image in the Note to Self Set on page 14 of the Holiday Mini, or the flower spray image from the Charming Set on pages 32 and 33 of the Holiday Mini. 

Personalized Notepaper from My Digital Studio

Here's another fun way to use the My Digital Studio software - create your own personalized notepaper!  Just create 4 sheets of notepaper on the same 8 1/2 x 11" layout and print it out on regular copy paper.  Cut the pieces apart and send some cute personalized notes!  Here's what I created for myself:

Scrapbook Pages from My Digital Studio

Here are a couple of scrapbook pages I recently created using My Digital Studio featuring pictures from our trip to Ireland this last June.  The second page uses the software's ability to take a photograph and use it like a piece of custom Designer Paper.  This gives you a full-sized photo on the page.  Pretty cool!

I've been playing with My Digital Studio software most of this week.  I really love this software.  It's very easy to use and you can do so much! 

There are several pre-designed cards in the software that you can just print right out if you wish.  Here's one of them:
