I'm a little later than I'd wanted getting this posted. It's been a busy day. I had to take the kitties to the vet for annual shots and because one was looking "mangey." Seems I have a "neurotic" kitty! She's been chewing really hard on herself and literally removing the fur. The vet says she's just anxious because she isn't the "top cat" in the house. That honor goes to the 15-pound ball of fur!
I also got my box of "sneak peek" items today including my new catalog. I had to spend some time going through the new catalog page by page and oohing and ahhing over it with my fellow demo friend, Kathy. It's awesome!
So, anyway, I finally got around to creating this week's project which features retiring products. Here it is:

Directions |
1) Cut a piece of Baja Breeze Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2". Score and fold in half to make card.
2) Stamp the "wonderful you" sentiment from the Wonderful You Set in Chocolate Chip Ink on the bottom right of the card.
3) Cut a piece of chocolate with baja dots Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Paper to 3 1/4 x 5 1/2".
4) Punch one long edge of the Designer Paper with the Scallop Edge Punch.
5) Secure a piece of Baja Breeze Double-Stitched Ribbon to the bottom of the punched Designer Paper.
6) Use the paper-piercing tools in the Crafters' Tool Kit to poke a hole in the paper under the center of the ribbon towards the left side.
7) Open the prongs on the back of a flowered brad from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware a bit.
8) Wrap the prongs of the brad around the ribbon and insert in the hole in the Designer Paper. Secure the brad on the back side.
9) Adhere the Designer Paper strip to the card front.
10) Stamp the morning glory image from the Morning Soft Set in VersaMark Ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock.
11) Sprinkle on Silver Embossing Powder and tap off excess.
12) Heat the image with the Heat Tool until the embossing powder is melted.
13) Rub a Sponge Dauber on the Pretty in Pink Ink Pad to pick up some color. Rub the pink ink onto the center of the flower images.
14) Choose a clean Sponge Dauber and rub it on the Baja Breeze Ink Pad to pick up some color. Rub the blue ink along the edges of the flowers and on the buds.
15) Choose a clean Sponge Dauber and rub it on the Certainly Celery Ink Pad to pick up some color. Rub the green ink onto the leaves and stems.
16) Carefully cut out the colored image.
17) Adhere the flower image to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Tips You don't have to use the Powder Pals when embossing, but they are highly recommended. They help contain the powder and make it easier to return excess powder to the container.
You can buy enough Sponge Daubers to have one for every color of ink or at least one for yellows, blues, greens, etc. Or, you can do like I do and just clean the ink off with running water when you are done using them on a project and allowing them to air dry.
Use our Paper Snips on page 189 ($9.95) for best results when cutting out fine details.
I actually cut the stems off the flowers as that fit better on the card front around the ribbon and brad. |
