Here are some more cards that are samples in another of my "Class in the Mail Kits" for my downline who sold a set amount one month.  I have so many ladies in my group earning these now that I can't give them all exactly the same Kits anymore!  These samples all feature Play Date Designer Series Paper, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, and a chipboard heart from On Board Mix & Match.  Enjoy!

One Layout and Color Scheme Ideas

Each month that members of my downline sell a set amount, they earn a "Class in the Mail Kit" from me.  They get all the consumable supplies they need to make 8 cards at an upcoming event of their own.  I also send them several samples so they can use the Sets they have available.

Here are several cards using the same layout and color scheme sent out as one of the "Class in the Mail Kit" incentives recently.  It's a simple, fun layout featuring some of our new In Colors.  See how many different looks you can get just by varying the stamps used while still using the same layout and color scheme!

Heart Candy Box

Every month, I give some members of my Stampin' Clubs an extra goody.  The ones who get this extra special treat were the Hostesses for that month and the first ones in the Club to get their orders turned in to me. 

My younger son gave me a great idea while we were grocery shopping the other day.  We were picking out some Valentine candy to send out and he spotted a cool heart-shaped box filled with Ghirardelli squares.  He said, "Hey, mom, I bet you could tear this box apart and use it to make a pattern for your own heart box."  He was right (smart boy!).

Here's my version of the heart box which I made after tearing the bought box apart (I let him eat most of the chocolate squares inside since he had such a good idea).  My box is filled with assorted heart-shaped chocolates for my January Club Hostesses and the first to place their Club Orders during January.  Enjoy!

Bonus Tutorial - Heart Treat Cup Pouch

I got this brilliant idea from my upline, Janet Wakeland.  I just took the idea and tweaked it a bit so that I didn't use as much card stock.  All my Club Members are getting one of these as an extra treat from me with their January Club Orders.  Enjoy!

Directions

1)  Cut a piece of Taken with Teal Card Stock to 4 1/2 x 8 1/2".  By cutting it to this size, you don't waste as much card stock when you run the card stock through the Big Shot since you are cutting some of the flaps off anyway.

2)  Place the Fancy Favor Die on your work surface with the cutting side up and the Sizzix label on the left side (and upside down).

3)  Carefully place the teal card stock onto the Die so it covers the top of the box on the left side.  You will not cover all of the flaps, but that is okay since you are going to cut them off anyway.

4)  Build a sandwich of Extended Cutting Pad, Die with card stock placed on it as shown in the picture above, Extended Premium Crease Pad, and shim of heavy card stock if needed.  Run through the Big Shot.

5)  Undo your sandwich and remove your cut and scored card stock.  It should look like this:

6)  Cut off the bottom flaps and the side flap.

7)  Turn the card stock over so the score lines are indenting the card stock.

8)  Carefully stamp the scalloped border heart image from the Sweetheart Set in Taken with Teal Ink onto the center panel about 1/4" from the bottom.  I used the Clear Mount version of the set, so it was really easy to see where I was positioning my stamp by lining up the block sides and bottom.

9)  Slide the stamped card stock into the Full Heart Punch so that the center of the heart is centered inside the punching area.

10)  Put tiny pieces of Sticky Strip at 4 points around the top rim of a Heart Treat Cup.  If some of the Sticky Strip sticks over the edge of the rim, trim it off with scissors.

11)  Remove the protective red backing from the tiny pieces of Sticky Strip and insert the Heart Treat Cup into the punched out heart.  Do NOT remove the protective backing on the bottom rim of the Treat Cup!

12)  If using a large candy like I did, you can go ahead and insert it into the cup.  If using smaller candies like M&Ms, wait and fill the pouch just before tying it shut.

13)  Turn the card stock over so the opening to the treat cup is face up.  Place strips off Sticky Strip along the bottom of the center panel and along the edge of one of the side panels as shown here:

14)  Remove the protective red backing from the bottom strip of Sticky Strip and fold the left flap over and press firmly to adhere.

 

15)  Remove the protective red backing from the Sticky Strip on the right flap and fold it closed.  Press firmly to adhere.

16)  Stamp sentiment from Sweetheart Set in Taken with Teal Ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock.

17)  Punch the sentiment out with the Modern Label Punch so it is aligned to the left side of the punch.

18)  Punch a scrap of Real Red Card Stock with the Small Heart Punch.

19)  Adhere the small heart to the right side of the punched sentiment.

20)  Use the handheld circle punch to punch a small hole in the left side of the punched sentiment.

21)  Thread a small piece of Linen Thread through the small hole in the punched sentiment and tie a loop.

22)  If using small candies like M&Ms, fill your pouch now.

23)  Wrap a piece of Real Red Polka-Dot Ribbon around the top of the pouch and start tying a simple overhand knot.

24)  Slip the loop of Linen Thread onto one end of the ribbon before you finish tying your knot.

25)  Trim ends of ribbon and Linen Thread as needed.

Tips

You may or may not need a shim when using the Fancy Favor Die.  All Big Shot Machines and Dies are slightly different.  Some will need a shim and some won't.  Just experiment with your machine, dies, and various thicknesses of materials to be cut (card stock or Designer Paper) to determine if you need a shim or not. 

The card board which comes packaged with most of the Dies makes an excellent shim.  Or, use a piece of card board cut from packaging of our Designer Papers.

Cut only one piece of card stock at a time for best results.  If you try to cut more than one at a time, the score lines might not be distinct enough.

Make sure you stamp the heart image so the tip of the heart is only about 1/4" from the bottom of the card stock.  Otherwise, the punch won't be able to get in far enough.

It's always a good idea to stamp images first and then punch them out.  It's just easier to line things up that way especially since you can easily turn our punches over so you can see what you are punching!

Nestle Crunch hearts fit snuggly into the Heart Treat Cups and some of them are wrapped in Real Red foil!  Reese's Peanut Butter hearts also fit snuggly into the Heart Treat Cups, but I'm not using them in case of peanut allergies.

You can also fill these pouches with small candies like M&Ms, Skittles, or conversation hearts or with non-edible treats like buttons, brads, bath salts, confetti, rice or bird seed to be thrown at a wedding, etc.

You could make a similar pouch using our round Sweet Treat Cups sold on page 21 of the Occasions Mini and the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.

 

Weekly Inspiration

My apologies.  I never got a Weekly Inspiration post done last week, too busy catching up from our holiday vacation (which was warm, by the way, as we went to Florida to visit family and then on a cruise of the western Caribbean!).  And, I'm really late posting today's because I'm having issues with AOL that are causing all kinds of trouble!

Directions for Box

1)  Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock to 5 1/4 x 8 1/2".

2)  Score the Chocolate Chip rectangle on all sides at the 1" mark.  Fold along the score lines.

3)  You should have a small square outlined in each corner.  Cut along one score line of each of these squares to make flaps.

4)  Put small pieces of Sticky Strip on each flap and fold the edges up to make a box tray.

5)  Cut another piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock to 6 1/2 x 9 3/4".

6)  Score this rectangle at the 3", 4 1/8", 7 1/2", and 8 5/8" marks.

7)  Cut a piece of Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper to 3 x 3 1/2".

8)  Adhere the Designer Paper to the front panel of the box sleeve on the bottom half.

9)  Slide the front panel of the box sleeve into the Full Heart Punch as far as it will go.  Center it from side to side and punch.  Put the punched out heart aside to use as an embellishment on one of the Note Cards later.

10)  Cut a piece of Pretty Pink Card Stock to 3 x 3 1/2".

11)  Punch one short side with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.

12)  Adhere the punched pink rectangle to the front panel of the box sleeve so the punched edge overlaps the Designer Paper a little.

13)  Put a scrap of Real Red Card Stock into the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die.  Build a sandwich of Multi-Purpose Platform open to tab 1, Standard Cutting Pad, Die with card stock inside, and Standard Cutting Pad.  Run through the Big Shot.

14)  Remove the textured heart cut out from the Die.

15)  Ink up the sentiment from the Whimsical Words Set using Chocolate Chip Ink and stamp onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Card Stock.

16)  Punch out the sentiment with the Full Heart Punch.

17)  Adhere the sentiment heart to the textured heart cut out and then to the top of the box sleeve.

18)  Place the box sleeve face down on your work area.  Run a piece of Sticky Strip down the edge of the wide flap on the box sleeve.

19)  Place the box tray on top of the front panel of the box sleeve and wrap the sleeve around it and secure in place with the Sticky Strip.

20)  Tie a piece of Real Red Satin Ribbon around the center of the box and trim ends.

 

Directions for Thought Note Card

1)  Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock to 3 x 5 1/2".

2)  Score at 3" to make card.

3)  Punch the short flap bottom edge using the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.

4)  Cut a piece of Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper to 1 1/2 x 3".

5)  Adhere it to the punched edge to make the bottom of the card.

6)  Stamp the sentiment from the Whimsical Words Set in Chocolate Chip Ink on the card front so it is centered from side to side and top to punched edge.

7)  Tie a piece of Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon around the card just above the punched edge and trim ends.

 

Directions for Too Kind Note Card

1)  Cut a piece of Pretty in Pink Card Stock to 3 x 6".  Score and fold in half.

2)  Cut a piece of Pretty in Pink Card Stock to 2 1/2 x 2 3/4".

3)  Punch one of the short edges with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.

4)  Stamp the sentiment from the Whimsical Words Set in Real Red Ink so it is centered near the top of the punched pink square.

5)  Adhere a small piece of Real Red Satin Ribbon between the punched edge and the sentiment.

6)  Use the Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pack to poke a hole through the ribbon and card stock.

7)  Pinch the ribbon together slightly in the center and wrap the prongs of a Sending Love Brad around the ribbon and insert them in the hole in the card stock.  Secure on the back side.

8)  Cut a piece of Real Red Card Stock to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4."

9)  Mat the decorated pink square on the red square and then adhere to the card front.

 

Directions for Always Note Card

1)  Cut a piece of Pretty in Pink Card Stock to 3 x 6".  Score and fold in half.

2)  Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock to 2 3/4 x 3".

3)  Punch one of the short sides with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.

4)  Stamp the sentiment from the Whimsical Words Set so it is centered near the top of the punched vanilla square.

5)  Cut a thin strip of Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper 1/4 x 2 3/4".

6)  Punch out a small heart from a scrap of Real Red Card Stock using the Heart to Heart Punch.

7)  Punch a smaller heart from a scrap of Pretty in Pink Card Stock using the Small Heart Punch.

8)  Adhere the small pink heart on top of the red heart.

9)  Adhere the hearts on top of the strip of Designer Paper on the right side.

10)  Adhere the decorated vanilla square to the card front.

 

Directions for For You Note Card

1)  Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock to 3 x 6".  Score and fold in half.

2)  Cut a piece of Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4."

3)  Adhere the Designer Paper to the card front.

4)  Place a scrap of Very Vanilla Card Stock into the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die.  Build a sandwich of Multi-Purpose Platform open to tab 1, Standard Cutting Pad, Die with card stock inside, and Standard Cutting Pad.  Run through the Big Shot.

5)  Remove the textured heart cut out from the Die.

6)  Stamp the sentiment from the Vintage Labels Set in Real Red Ink onto a scrap of Pretty in Pink Card Stock.

5)  Punch out the sentiment with the Full Heart Punch.

6)  Use the Stamping Sponge to sponge a little Real Red Ink on the sides of the heart.

7)  Adhere the stamped, sponged heart to the vanilla die cut heart and then to the card front.

 

Directions for Pink Heart Note Card

1)  Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock to 3 x 6".  Score and fold in half.

2)  Cut a piece of Pretty in Pink Card Stock to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4".

3)  Stamp the scallop heart image from the Sweetheart Set in Real Red Ink in the center of the pink square.

4)  Punch a scrap of Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper with the Full Heart Punch.

5)  Adhere the punched out heart to the center of the stamped heart.

6)  Adhere the decorated pink square to the card front.

 

Directions for Red Heart Note Card

1)  Cut a piece of Real Red Card Stock to 3 x 6".  Score and fold in half.

2)  Cut a piece of Pretty in Pink Card Stock to 2 3/4 x 2 3/4".

3)  Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock to 1 x 2 3/4".

4)  Punch one long edge of the chocolate strip with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.

5)  Adhere the punched chocolate strip to the top of the pink square.

6)  Adhere a piece of Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon to the top of the square.  Tie a small piece of ribbon to this and trim the ends.

7)  Adhere the heart you punched out of the box sleeve to the bottom of the square.

8)  Adhere the decorated square to the card front.

Tips

You will want to use a strong adhesive like Sticky Strip to hold your box together to make sure it stays together.

Make sure you wrap the box sleeve around the box tray when adhering the sleeve together.  This will help you adhere it together straight and make sure it is the right size to slide on and off the tray without being too loose.

Cut your Stamping Sponges into quarters to get more sponges and smaller surface areas that are easier to use.

You can buy some Mini Square Envelopes that are the right size for 3x3" Note Cards on page 168 of the big catalog.  They are only available in Whisper White at this time.

When you put your Note Cards in the box tray, make sure that the one with the heart you punched out of the sleeve is in the bottom half of the tray and on top of the stack so the heart will show through the punch out.
