I was a little late getting treat boxes out to my niece and nephews for Valentine's Day this year because of everything that has been going on in our family lately. I hope they will still enjoy the boxes full of candy that I made for them using the Sealed with Love Set and Yummy in My Tummy Set.
I took a few supplies with me on my recent trip to Florida so I could work on the boxes while on the road, but I didn't take my Big Shot or any dies with me and regretted not having a circle framelit. So, I improvised! I traced a spool of ribbon onto card stock using a marker and then cut it out by hand. To help hide any imperfections in the cutting, I used the edge of the marker to outline the circle. It actually worked pretty well. I also tried a technique shown by Sara Douglass of Stampin' Up! to make the monsters on the boys' boxes look slimy and shiny. Her technique involves adding a few drops of ink refill to a bottle of Fine-Tip Glue Pen and then slowly adding it to the stamped image and letting it dry thoroughly. I added eyeballs to the White Perfect Accents on the monsters' eye stalks with a Sharpie Marker.
