Here's one of the cards we'll be making on Friday when my fellow Demonstrators come over for a Sample Making Day. If you are a Demonstrator (or are seriously considering becoming a Demonstrator) in the Central Maryland area and would like to attend my Sample Making Days, please contact me for more details. We'd love to have you join us!
This card uses the Summer Smooches Decor Stencil that is only available this month as part of the Summer Smooches Sneak Peek and a technique where you heat emboss an image and then rub Stampin' Pastels on to the embossed area. Enjoy!

Directions
1) Cut a piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" using the Paper Cutter.
2) Score the card stock along the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" using the Scoring Blade on the Paper Cutter. Fold in half to make card.
3) Cut a piece of Pacific Point Card Stock to 4 x 5 1/4".
4) Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8".
5) Adhere the white rectangle to the Pacific Point rectangle.
6) Adhere a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon across the rectangles about 1/2" from the bottom.
7) Adhere to the front of the Daffodil Delight card.
8) Ink up the sentiment from the Pursuit of Happiness Set using the Markers.
9) Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock.
10) Punch out the sentiment using the Large Oval Punch.
11) Punch a scallop oval from a scrap of Pacific Point Card Stock using the Scallop Oval Punch.
12) Adhere the ovals together and then to the front of the card so they are centered over the ribbon.
13) Cut a piece of Pacific Point Card Stock to 3 3/8" square.
14) Place the Summer Smooches Decor Stencil on top of the Pacific Point square so that the portion of the image you want to emboss is centered on the square.
15) Carefully press the VersaMark Pad down onto the stencil and card stock repeatedly until the entire area you want to emboss has been inked up. You'll be able to tell because the card stock will be darker where the VersaMark Ink has been added.
16) Carefully remove the stencil.
17) Place the square in a Powder Pal tray and sprinkle on White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Tap off excess. Return unused powder to the container.
18) Heat the image with the Heat Tool until the powder is completely melted and shiny.
19) Rub a Sponge Dauber on the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Pastels square to pick up some of the pastels chalk. Rub the pastel chalk onto the embossed image. Get more pastel chalk on the dauber as needed.
20) Wipe off excess chalk.
21) Cut a piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock to 3 1/2" square.
22) Adhere the stenciled, embossed, and chalked Pacific Point square to the Daffodil Delight square.
23) Adhere the squares to the top center of the card front.
Tips
I like to adhere ribbon by tucking the ends of the ribbon around to the back side of the card stock and holding them in place with small strips of Sticky Strip. This uses less ribbon and lays flatter.
I like to keep some scissors just for cutting Sticky Strip. That way I don't get my good scissors all gummed up and dull.
The Daffodil Delight 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon is available during April as part of the Summer Smooches Sneak Peek. It will then be available again in the new big catalog effective June 1.
If you want more control while adding the VersaMark Ink to the card stock through the stencil, try using a Sponge Dauber.
Remember, the Summer Smooches Decor Stencil is ONLY available during April as part of the Summer Smooches Sneak Peek. Once April is over, it will be gone for good.
You might want to have a small paint brush handy to brush off any stray specks of Stampin' Emboss Powder that are where you don't want them before heating. A few specks are okay though, just think of them as pollen. After all, there is plenty of pollen in the air when all the flowers are blooming!
A dry Swiffer cloth is an excellent way to remove excess Stampin' Pastels chalk from your project and your work area.
