Directions
1) Stamp pocketwatch frame from the Clockworks Set in Chocolate Chip Ink onto a scrap of Crumb Cake Card Stock.
2) Stamp clock numbers from the Clockworks Set in Not Quite Navy Ink inside of the pocketwatch frame.
3) Stamp clock hands from the Clockworks Set in Chocolate Chip Ink in center of pocketwatch frame.
4) Cut the pocketwatch out by hand using Paper Snips.
5) Shake the bottle of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint a few times to make sure it is well mixed.
6) Remove the cap and press the tip of a clean Sponge Dauber into the cap to pick up some ink.
7) Press the Sponge Dauber to the center of the pocketwatch image.
8) Use the Sponge Dauber to sponge a little bit of Shimmer Paint around the edges of the pocketwatch image as well.
9) Stamp the larger background image from the Clockworks Set in Not Quite Navy Ink onto a scrap of Riding Hood Red Card Stock.
10) Use your fingers to tear out the image and ruffle the edges of the torn card stock.
11) Cut two strips of Crumb Cake Card Stock to 2 1/4 x 4 1/2" long.
12) Build a sandwich of Multipurpose Platform completely closed, one Standard Cutting Pad, one strip of Crumb Cake Card Stock with rectangular Apothecary Accents Framelits placed on top (make sure the cutting edge is facing down), and the other Standard Cutting Pad. Run through the Big Shot.
13) Repeat step 12 with the other strip of Crumb Cake Card Stock.
14) Use the circle punch in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to punch a hole in one rounded end of each label.
15) Place one label on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Place the template with that shape label on it from the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack on top of the card stock. Be sure to line up the template carefully.
16) Use the Paper-Piercing Tool to poke holes along the top and bottom edge of the label.
17) Repeat steps 15 and 16 with the other label.
18) Get some Chocolate Chip Ink on a Stamping Sponge by rubbing it across the open ink pad.
19) Rub the inky sponge across the two labels until you get the color coverage you want. Get more ink on the sponge as needed.
20) Stamp the sentiment from the Bring on the Cake Set in Not Quite Navy Ink just to the left of the hole of the label with the hole punched on the right side.
21) Cut a piece of Not Quite Navy Card Stock to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8".
22) Place the Not Quite Navy Card Stock into the Argyle Embossing Folder lengthwise so only the bottom half of the card stock will be embossed.
23) Build a sandwich of Multipurpose Platform with Tab 2 open, one Standard Cutting Pad, embossing folder with card stock inside as outlined in step 22, and the other Standard Cutting Pad. Run through the Big Shot.
24) Adhere the stamped and torn piece of Riding Hood Red Card Stock to the embossed Not Quite Navy Card Stock just to the right of center and near the top at a slight angle.
25) Thread a piece of Crumb Cake 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon through the holes in your labels and leave the ends dangling free.
26) Adhere the labels to the Not Quite Navy Card Stock about 1" from the top so the ends of the labels with the holes are about 3/4" apart and are just to the right of center. The unpunched ends of the labels will hang off the card stock.
27) Use your Paper Snips to trim off the ends of the labels.
28) Tie the loose ends of the ribbon into a bow. Trim the ends with the Craft Scissors.
29) Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock to 4 x 5 1/2".
30) Adhere the Not Quite Navy layer to the Chocolate Chip layer.
31) Cut a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" using the Stampin' Trimmer.
32) Score the Crumb Cake Card Stock along the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" using the Scoring Blade on the Stampin' Trimmer. Fold in half to make card.
33) Adhere the matted Not Quite Navy layer to the front of the card.
34) Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the pocketwatch to the card front so it appears to be hanging from the ribbon at a slight angle.
Tips
If you want to make sure that your watch images are lined up perfectly, you can use our Stamp-a-ma-jig. It's sold on page 7 and costs $11.95. There are directions with pictures on how to use it on page 37 of the big catalog.
Some people like to buy enough Sponge Daubers to have one for every color of ink and Shimmer Paint. I just rinse mine under running water after each use and let them air dry. The sponge may be stained, but it is still clean and safe to use with any color of ink.
Cut your Stamping Sponges into quarters using scissors. This will give you more sponges to work with and they will be easier to hold and use.
Just like with the Sponge Daubers, I just rinse my Stamping Sponges under running water and let them air dry when I am done.
