I'm very happy with the way this card turned out; even my older son said it was very good! I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day yesterday and a big thanks to all who have or are serving in the military and their families.
Uses Curvy Verses Set plus Poppy Parade Card Stock, Tempting Turquoise Card Stock, Pear Pizzazz Card Stock, Basic Black Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock, Build-A-Bear Workshop Pawsitively Prints II Designer Series Paper, Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad, Garden Green Classic Stampin' Pad, Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad, Whisper White Craft Stampin' Pad, Stamping Sponges, 2-1/2" Circle Extra-Large Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Scallop Oval Extra-Large Punch, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Extended Cutting Pads, Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die, 2-Way Glue Pen, and Stampin' Dimensionals.
I sponged Garden Green Ink, Soft Suede Ink, and Whisper White Ink randomly onto the whole watermelon. Then, I cut a piece of scrap card stock with the Tasteful Trim Die using the zigzag section. I then placed the two sides cut from around the zigzag onto the circle with a little space between them and sponged on a little more Garden Green in between to create the pattern on the watermelon. The watermelon slice rind was done in the same way except I only sponged Garden Green along the outside edge of the curve and sponged on a fair amount of Whisper White along the inside edge.
I got the idea for the watermelon seeds using the tiny leftover bits from the center of the flowers when punching with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch from my customer Sandy Boehm. Thanks for a brilliant idea, Sandy! Told you I'd work on coming up with a card to use that idea; hope you like it!
